What, when they claimed that June/July could be intresting months you didnt expect them to just change the steam release date again? I find it hilarious that the devs accuse people of trying to "cancel" them yet they do this constantly.

If only they release the game by parts, at least to grasp a bit what the new changes are...

Roundscape is one of the biggest nsfw games out there, and that's because we released content for it every single month. The ultimate mistake I made with Arenus was to go with a "final release" instead of early access and monthly updates like Roundscape. The pressure and work required to release one finished game is massive, the amount of unfinished NSFW games out there shows that.

We wanted to finish this project on our own, without having a publisher who forces us to add microtransactions to the game. I understand that delays suck, but maybe look back at how much we created in the past before trying to cancel us.

About the abandoned tag. Occam's razor: Like we would cancel a game that we invested so much time and money into.
Sometimes the easiest explanation is the right one.

No need to reply to this, i'm not here to start a discussion, was told by someone about the abandoned tag and wanted to write a small comment. But I like the tag, makes me feel like the underdog, especially with people trying to cancel us, so please keep it.
Man, two years have passed, and there are no updates. What tag should this game have? Star Citizen?

There been an update in May, what are you talking about ? This isn't an early access title where you can expect regular updates, but a full on release coming when it's ready. It like saying , back in the day when demos for games were a thing, "why is the game not updated, i played some of it"

The game was supposed to be released in 2020 according to initial statements. It's already 2022, in a couple of months it will be 2023, and there are only a couple of news about the game in the style of "working, getting high, there will be a release soon." Think with your head, and don't eat into it)

so much whining over when a game may or may not be released because someone else might be giving them money. how dare those people decide what to do with their own money! only these internet crybabies sitting in a forum complaining about something they intended to steal having not been released yet can decide what other people can do with their own money!

heres a little tip for you youngsters that think anyone else cares about your opinion and that everything should be handed to you on your schedule: delays happen. sometimes for years and years. sometimes projects get cancelled halfway through. sometimes 3 out of 4 games get released, then for mysterious reasons, the final game of the series never materializes and an entire contest gets abandoned with no concrete reasons why. this is nothing new. this has been happening since the 80s (at least). diablo 2 lod had an update that was supposed to change how people saw the game delayed by, i forget exactly, but a year or longer? an update from a major corporation owned by another major corporation for an existing game with massive popularity. delayed. "oh noes, how come they dont hold to the vague, tenuous schedule they set out REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" because. you deserve no other answer. the game will be released when its finished. or it wont be released at all. if you dont like that timeline, then stop your payments to them.......... yeah, didnt really think any of you actually have money to begin with, let alone money to give the developer. if someone else is giving them money, then shut the fuck up and let them do what they want with their money. but i can guarantee you one thing. coming here to cry about the game not being released yet isnt going to get it released any faster. probably will achieve the opposite goal. everyone whining will lead a few others to stop paying the developers, and if enough people stop supporting them, maybe you can put another notch on your belt for killing another game through your incessant whining!

good day, ladies.

You must be new around here, Joeburqa. Let me fill you in on some things here.

This game was announced in July 2017, and had a release date of 2019. That release date has been pushed off about a dozen times. The demo only came out in March 2020, and it wasn't until August 2020 that it was patched up enough to be moderately stable. Virtually no new content was introduced in that demo that wasn't in the 2017 trailer for the game. Three years and nothing new? Two years and no real progress after the last demo patch?

We're not "REEEEEEE"ing about anything. We're rightly annoyed by a developer who's done jack shit in terms of getting this game ready for a full release.

yup, still REEEEEEEEEEEEEE'ing i see. as i said. this happens. a lot. delays occur. countless major studios have promised games would release on a certain date. then didnt. sometimes for years and years. with countless people working on it and hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars spent on developing them. and get this, back in my day, you got a demo, then you got a full release. there was none of this monthly update bullshit. thats even if you got the demo. didnt always happen. you would see an ad, or hear something through word of mouth, then 3 years later you would see a release date, and get excited because you were looking forward to it. doesnt matter when it was announced. doesnt matter what the guessed release date was. doesnt matter when the demo was released. all that matters is the game is not ready yet, and therefore isnt released yet. and no amount of crying is going to change that. im sure lots of you will try to prove me wrong though. so, be annoyed all you want. wont make the project complete any faster. it does make for an entertaining thread though. i love laughing at the stupidity of whiners.

as an aside, you do know that they have a completed game, a currently in progress game that is pretty god damn huge, and promised no updates on this project in favour of a full release of a finished game only, right? i guess what matters is getting to steal the game when you decide you want to, though....

good day, sir.

I think one of the biggest issues is that during the no news of Arenus, Roundscape was and has been getting so much content and obvious work put into the game. Like Roundscape has gotten ALOT of content over the 2 years (not that I am complaining about that), I understand there are two teams? But imagine that put into Arenus- it would be done by now.

Man what a giant wall of post there Sonic, well there a simple reason for radio silence: if each month a post is simply "we squashed bugs, more bugs to squash" people will complain it feels like a lie, if there's no post, people complain there's none, there is no winning here, right now, development isn't on content but quality, hence why there is nothing to show.

Failing to meet release date isn't lies either, simply failure in planning, pushed by people being impatient, forcing the devs to throw a bone, but when the development is only bug fixing and quality, what bone to give than a potential release date? With all the complaining, insulting etc. It is very stressful for the devs and makes working harder: it is like being in a toxic workplace you can't quit.

As for the 12k per month, they already aren't enough for the current staff (counting art commission and more), and arenus development is already well over 6 figures.

If you think it is easy to give quality, length, fun, and not just porn, how come we barely got quality porn games a lot of shovelware with porn scenes every 2 minute without interesting story and barely any gameplay?

The devs are working hard to please people, hell, they don't care that their games are here for free.

The stress of arenus work is even felt within the team, with Kal interacting less around while before he was very active.

Again, it isn't easy, but beside release date being fucked, the content of arenus and the promises for the game were never lies, which is exactly why it is taking so much time to bring it to everyone (including for free on f95zone)

Wah person on patreon gets money for a hope of a game even though they are under zero contract to deliver at any time
Try looking up the definition of a patron.

The shilling for Kaliyo is strong in this thread.

By the way, Roundscape is still being worked on actively, even though Kaliyo stated Arenus would be his sole focus over a year ago. He's been polling for more RS events and scenes, and has posted RS scene previews as recently as 5 days ago.

Hell, he's pushed Below Sunshade updates, even though that game started development after Arenus (in fact, it was started after Arenus' original "expected release date" of June 2019), and is now considered "complete" with a small patch back in March. Even better, Below Sunshade was announced and released as a 1.0 before Arenus even got a demo.

We do not trust Kaliyo to deliver on any promises revolving around Arenus. With good reason.
