Hey everyone!
Thank you for all the comments and messages left regarding the recent chapter. A lot of work was put into this one and I am glad it is finally released. The Mac versions seem to be giving issues it seems. I had one person mention having an issue with the patch, so I'll be restoring the 4.1 download link for Mac users while I continue to look into it.
My eye procedure went well. Been mostly keeping it shut since I can't wear my contact on my right eye until Friday, when I get the bandage contact removed. Looking forward to being 100% again.
Even though I was supposed to be on a post-release break, I've been working on things here and there. Writing notes for CH5, going through the textures of the models and re-organizing my database. Just getting things cleaned up and ready before CH5 development starts.
I've also put Steam back on my docket and had a couple of people bring something to my attention regarding Steam. My current tier method will get Artemis removed from Steam if I keep it when it comes to releasing on Steam. Referring to the TI-86 and T-800 tiers Steams documentation states under Rule number 4:
The Early Access price of your game should be no higher than that offered on any other service or website. Please take care of your customers on Steam.
Here is a link to the documentation itself (Under Rules #4)
You must be registered to see the links
This means if I continue to offer the Artemis at the $1 and $5 tiers, I will be violating their rules and Artemis will be removed. This is disappointing for me as I hate backtracking on my word, however since I am doing this full-time now. I have to be extra diligent so as to not violate policies. (Just like the music situation)
All that said, I will continue to offer CH4 at the $1 and $5 tiers until November 11th. I said I'd offer this Chapter at the lower tiers so I will do what I can to offer it for a time. But I will have to return back to the old tier rewards and no longer offer CH4 and future chapters, so I'm not put in a bad position with Steam. I sincerely apologize for this bit of news.
I did contact Steam for some clarification in case there's a way I can still offer it here on the lower tiers, so I hope to hear some good news when they reply back.
This week I will be doing more database cleaning and organizing. But mostly unwinding before the next development cycle begins. I'm also going to be changing the time I post DevLogs. They'll still be on Mondays, but...actually ON Monday at 12 PM PST. When I was doing my day job, I would pack my Sat and Sun with as much Dev time as possible, I usually wrapped up around 11PM, so would post my DevLogs around then. Now that I can better manage my development time, figure it would be nice to post a DevLog after some rest and a clearer mind.
thank you all and have yourselves a great week.
