Could someone do a concise TL;DR of the most common critics here about DPC writing? Curious, it's mostly the forced M&J?

pick a scenario in the game. doesn't matter which one, just pick a context. like, there is a character does something in a certain situation. you are allowed to bash DPC's writing because this particular character did something that you didn't want them to. only in this topic ! You can make up as many retarded theories without base as you can and if one of them doesn't actually happen, you can claim it's bad writing and your version was actually better.

i'm not joking, this is %100 real.

Honestly if I am not getting love taps on here it means I am falling down on the banner waving of DPC's writing skill or lack there of.

However, I can't attribute my relative quiet to resigning myself to his sub par writing skill. I am just more interested in another group of games at the moment, probably, to be honest, more interested in them for long term. Never fear though, I shall make my appearances for some of my super fans like Arched Croissant, and Gladsheim.

Your first explanation makes sense but not your second one. The MC stops by the frat house before going out with Tommy so he could have easily picked up his new phone at that time.

ah Kellerman, it has always been Bella first.. Sage is definitely better than Jill. Josy was the original poster child, Maya was and is the single "cutest". Nicole, Jade and Cathy are all my head cannon harem with Bella running the crew. Sage is busy giving all the ladies love and attention when I have completed myself inside them. well, I'm glad you like other games, I think this is not a game of your style. This last week I have been focused on CyberPunk or doing other things, these games for me are like reading a book, a book with images for adults. But for fun I have other hobbies. I don't hate you, you can be calm xD

Usually involving either M&J, Jill being Naïve and a tease and gullible and the MC's Aunt, Bella being a psycho killer with her husband and their first born in the locked room in the wedding gifted food processor. Sage is rebounding onto you because 99% of equines on the planet have smaller genital organs than you do, and if you didn't visit her when she was sick you are a heartless fuck. Derek is the best character in the game. Quinn is a whore, pimp, drug dealer, and will be in a body bag before the ending, Mona is going to bring down B&R, and publish pictures of Stephen Burke's micro penis. The rest are simply window dressing. Zirael, I made sure to ding Quinn for you, but did I miss anything??????

He is, and he's not there when Quinn goes to pick up the drugs which makes me think he's dead. She also seems quite melancholic and sad, like when she looks at what are clearly her height lines on the wall from growing up.

The guy's probably making 5 figures a month, which is better than most people, yet someone sharing a preview render of Ep 7 on Reddit is "harmful to my business".

There are links to both Patreon and Steam on the Reddit page so that if people want to go and support them they can and these small things will barely make a dent in their profits.

I haven't thought about how I'm going to respond to this yet since I've only just seen it, but I don't see how I have any other choice.

The biggest issue with this game is:

• More time is spent thinking/talking about it than actually playing it (due to the justifiable delays between episode releases).

This is resulting in some people putting every scene, every line of dialogue under the microscope and picking everything to shreds. It's subjectively one of the best AVN's out there, and definitely way better than "Leap of Faith".

Here's a quote from the creator of the game:

Visual Novel kind of implies linearity. Just like a book is linear, the nature of a visual novel is, too. Before I started developing games it was so hard to imagine the kind of work that goes into making a branching story, but luckily I realized early on that early game branching is something that can kill a project. Maintaining branches not close to the main story is not a good idea early on (unless you really have mapped out the game in advance). As for Megan, she was central to the moral of the story and the plotline. The whole idea of Jonas turning into something he was broken by could only happen if Megan was there. And it added a lot to the drama. I don't like my games to be easy-going. That's just who I am and it's of course ok if you like different

So when you play this "game", keep in mind that you're really just reading a story. You don't get to choose the major plot lines of the story, only some of the side lines. No one's forcing you to be friends with Maya and Josy, you're reading a story about a guy (not you) who is friends (or lovers) with Maya and Josy. Those characters are integral to the linear story. And if you don't like the story (as is the case with all the arts - liking them is very subjective), just put the book down and pick up another one.

For me personally, to echo many comments on this thread and many of the reviews, this is hands down the best AVN I've ever played.

I somehow doubt he would try to go that far with reddit, Reddit is the place where way more bigger fish than him are destroyed. EA, Battlefront 2 loot box, Now CD Projekt Red, Cyberpunk 2077,He is a little fish, and would not gain any positives with something like this

As a developer in such a niche industry it's gotta be a tightrope between getting customers to pay vs getting maximum exposure to hopefully entice more customers.

How many customers would have first tried it here and decided it was worth supporting via Patreon (hopefully heaps, for all these game developers, not just DPC), but how many people have stopped supporting via Patreon due to thinking they can just get it for free here (I'd like to think the mindset of a typical Patreon supporter is they are happy to assist the developers).
