i'm playing for the second time, this time i went for chick/maya route and from what i'm picking the theory of maya being intersex seems really possible. i'm picturing she was raised as a male but decided to stick to her female self, started taking less male hormones and finally came out in the last years. it would explain why her father is being a dick to her, it would explain why josy referred to her as a boyfriend, and her step brother being supportive would give another angle to him because right now he's kinda insufferable.

it's a good theory because it gives an explanation to points that are unanswered or clearly left as misteries by DPC. i don't really see what fact you're expecting, maya doesn't have to have any male characteristic to be intersex. so if by fact you mean casually finding a dna test lying in her bedroom where it shows she has a Y chromosome then i don't see that happening anytime soon.

When someone comes up with a theory they normally base it in fact, there only has to be 1 Fact in which you use to promote your theory, but there should be some form of indisputable evidence, that backs it up (vir_cotto has taught me this well when demolishing my theories)
The fact i am looking for is a piece of dialogue or an action that promotes your theory as truth, i can currently think of none, let me dissect and breakdown your points
1. Her father being a Dick to her: there are a million reasons why this could be, disobedience, difference in morals, or maybe he's old school and expects his daughter to be a lady. there are too many things this could be to rely on this as a fact towards your theory
2:Josy calling her a Boyfriend: This one is even more trouble then #1 as now you have to take into account what we know about a whole other character. Maybe it is a boyfriend, maybe it's a girlfriend but she's embarrassed to say, the list could go on
3: Derek being supportive: This ones easy, Why does Maya have to be Trans in order for Derek to care about her?

i agree that it's not the only possible explanation possible but a theory doesn't need that indisputable evidence you mention, at least that's the way i see it. if you provide a valid explanation of why things are the way they are and others can't give you undisputable evidence of you being wrong then the theory is valid.

i said intersex, people can be born with different cariotypes and some are undefined, some are even true hermaphrodytes. you can be intersex and look like a male but have female genitals. in the theory i gave, she was born with female genitals or ambiguous and she opted not to take hormones so she developed female parts so no scar needed.
