Fair point, though it's not like she and the MC are exclusive at that time. I mean, it's been one date total before the MC's birthday iirc and she's kind of expecting MC to drop plans for her already. I think the thought she had was 'Why aren't you acting like it?' when the MC says he wants to see her.
