Haha, I'm there at the beginning of Ep 8 right now on my Bella route save.

Troy asks where Chad is staying, he replies that he's crashing on Alex's couch.
Then they mention that Troy's new roommate is a nerd and that they should have timed it better.
Chad replies that there is no way they could have done that.

Maybe they were a couple, or maybe they weren't yet. Based on Chad's reply, they might not have been able to do that because they weren't together, or just that they couldn't have known he'd need a new room. That could go either way, really.

No mention of anything other than just ignoring the rest of "us" (meaning the other alphas) and that their shit talk affects Chad too.
That's in the scene where MC hides around a corner and listens to their convo?

Either way, when I said to take it with a grain of salt, I really meant a grain of salt the size of Texas.

Thanks for checking regardless. I wasn't looking forward to another playthrough just for 1 scene.. lol

Yep it is.

Interestingly, shortly after that is the Mel & Sarah scene where they talk about whether to sell Sage or not, and Sarah mentions that it would upset Sage that "we knew and didn't tell her." I didn't catch that in previous playthroughs, which implies to me that he's gay and not bi. I thought that perhaps Mel was being duped too, but not anymore. I am curious how they came to know this, though.

Thank God Zoey went to west coast and made the tats plus the nipple piercings. Now she is 10000% more sexy. Can't wait to give a good suck on those nipple piercings of hers

I think this loan thing should be taken for what it is - a plot device, not a dissertation or commentary on the ins and outs of the US federal student loan laws. As I said before, a MacGuffin.
x100.

I'm amazed at the pages and pages of debate I'm thumbing through here and speculation on complex motives or emotions......

Dudes.

It's a harem sex game. No matter what happens, Josy's not going to leave you if you want to stay with her. At the very worst, you'll be forced to make a decision between different girls. The humanity! Who cares whether or not Sage and Chad's split is reasonable, again, it's a harem sex game. All the backstories exist in service of the porn.

If this sounds overly reductionist, remind yourself that the dev's income stream relies on maintaining certain constants in the ingame world. I get that exploring different aspects of characters is enjoyable, but at some point it kinda sounds like millionaires arguing other whether oysters or steak are better to have for dinner. The answer is; it doesnt really matter because they'll be eating well regardless.

You aren't wrong, but this is a much deeper game than just porn as it actually has some complex characters rather than just Big-Titted Girl #1-12. Plus, as with actual porn, I like a bit of story to go with it.

And clearly steak is better. C'mon.

Sure, but I like my stories to have some teeth and stakes - e.g. if you make the wrong decision the girl leaves you. And that's never been the case here; which hurts the suspension of disbelief.

Steak? Blasphemy! If you've never had shellfish in a white wine garlic sauce you're missing out.

Well Bella sure does if she finds Cathy's panties in her car. I'll never make that mistake again!

hmm
It's because of Josy & Maya's relationship. I agree to some degree he would use the loan against her at every chance he gets but main reason is their relationship.

my "Because my dad is keeping my life hostage."
my "He fooled me into co-signing my student loan and afterward he gave me the ultimatum that I couldn't see Josy ever again."
The MC says in EP7 himself, so that it would still not be a free life, which he is also right. Maya must free herself from Patrick and not only in financial terms. That's why Sage also mentions in EP9 so that it pleases her that Maya is rebelling.

Maya had mentioned in EP5 so she doesn't have many friends anymore. But from EP10 she has many sisters and also more friends. Therefore, the next stage of Maya's rebellion will be to talk to the Royce lawyer. He will be able to get her out of guaranteeing Patrick's student loan, because such loans are usually earmarked and if they are not used for the purpose, they are voidable. Furthermore, Patrick is using the student loan to blackmail Maya's personal development, which is even a criminal offense. With the Royce lawyer, Patrick is being pressured, which could lead to a split in the Bailey family.

They may not have been a couple at that point. That could have happened later. Quite a bit of time passes from the guitar getting taken and seeing them in the gym.
Chad's shoes are on the floor of Troy's (and, at that moment, the MC's) dorm room in season 1.
d1_evening.jpg

You see Chad wearing those red shoes in the gym in episode two, right after you record him talking to his paramour on the phone for Sage. They are pretty clearly together at this point, but the VERY STRONG implication is they've been together for a long, long time.

ep2_chad_shower6.jpg

And OK, maybe they are just a pair of shoes, but you never see Troy wearing red shoes, nor, iirc, anyone but Chad.

maybe my opinion is also related to an anagraphic aspect, indeed it surely will be, but I appreciate much more a balanced character like Maya (and Bella is very similar) than overly emotional characters like Josy (and Jill for example)

to think that Maya does not reciprocate MC's feelings is rather naïve, especially in the context of an AVN :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: , only that REALISTICALLY these feelings are not Maya's only priority in life as she is called upon to deal with another emergency that takes priority. even with respect to Josy the issue of the loan takes priority, in the aftermath of Patrick's unexpected visit, Maya begins to reason about whether she should devote herself to her studies and put the affair with Josy on hold, with all the risk of losing her permanently.

now the whole loan storyline is rather stretched and not very believable, but since this is being proposed to us by DPC we have to believe it. Faced with the possibility of no longer being able to attend college and having to pay off a lifetime of debt that she can never repay, it is believable that Maya cannot let go of dreams of love and still have to maintain some lucidity (and in this it is ironic enough that the reason for friction with Josy is that for once Maya wants to have fun and forget, at least for the Halloween party, about her financial problems, by the way to think that saving money for the party costume might make a difference is very.... Jillish)

Maya, like Bella, is the only one who remains believable even in the role of MC's friend; MC doesn't love her back? she gets over it, doesn't show him a grudge, and gets on with her life. I prefer this to Josy who every first chapter of the season goes to MC to make sure he has not forgotten her and if anything instill some doubts in him about his current relationship (not coming forward, but hoping he will), or Jill who after deciding that anyway MC is not the man for her still has a beef with the fact that he is dating Bella or otherwise decides to show up at the Halloween party to make him regret what he missed...this subordinate role, which in an AVN is also fine, is still sad and pathetic...

even Zoey, forgetting the interlude steeped in failure, has this ability to be believable as both friend and lover, seems to me a great merit in DPC's construction of the character
You know that I just can't let this slide do you ? :) :ROFLMAO:

you misinterpreting the actual facts and I really Really dislike when people do this. especially the bold part. You conveniently missing out the Player aka your actions, and you make it seem like Josy is some needy girl who constantly guiltriping the player.

from episode 4, from the moment of the library if you decide to stay in the friendzone, or they reject the MC, every moment where Josy may get emotional, is fully depend on the player decision. MC puhsing her Buttons, except in episode, 9. Only in 1 Episode, in one moment, Josy comes to the MC by herself and ask if wheter he think about it or not of what could have been.
You can decide in Episode 5 that you wont help her when her dad arrive, therefor you can avoid the conversation with her. But even if count this as one moment, then we have to be honest becasue the same emotional covnersation happens wiht Maya to, so this is not an exlusive Josy thing.

In episode 6 you don't have any stand alone moment with her where this subject can be brought up again.
so we conclude that so far episode 5 was the only moment where Josy could get emotional, and that is the aftermath of episode 4 and the same thing happens with Maya to.

" This where the fun part beginning " :ROFLMAO:: Episode 7:

In the most Josy " heavy " episode, every single time when Josy get emotional, or confused about her feelings, is all exclusively by MC and the player actions. Right from the beginning it is MC who confront her, you can choose to go to sleep and not have the conversation at all, but if you confront her, it is MC who pushing her button, and make her emotional , it almost feels like as if it is him who can't let it go, and considering that the requirement what needed for the conversation to happen, aka " Feeling for Josy ", It is excatly the case. Not Josy, but MC. After that, it is MC who decided to Spend extra time with Josy, She not even invite him by herself, MC is the one who ask if he can visit her.
once again MC is the one who chasing Josy, even if it is a "friend level" - but we gonna talk about this stupid beliefs of Mc later on:ROFLMAO:.But once again MC is the one who decide to stay around her.
During the Hot Party, once again MC is the one who Kiss her, instead of giving her the drink:ROFLMAO:
BeingADIK 2022-01-23 18-34-38-96.jpg
so once again MC. make her confused and emotional. And with that we concluded the interactions in episode 7 , oh yes we go to the Gym, together but that is kind of a default storyline for the Chad secret to be revealed.

and we reached episode 8 , with a massive three interactions with Josy.. absolutely player choices if you trust her with a secret regarding the Sage situation or not, basically nothing to do " Josy's feeling. ". And you can as the player decide if you do some private training with her or not, nothing really happens there, a little bit of teasing. " Buff Josy ":ROFLMAO:.
and the final interaction yet again MC playfully teasing Josy and ( becky ) .
BeingADIK 2023-07-18 09-41-31-55.jpg

And We Reached Episode 9.
BeingADIK 2023-07-18 09-43-57-57.jpg
The only Time
When Josy by herself ask MC if whether he think about it what could have been if things would be different. But. Just to be Consistent :giggle:. MC can choose to not take picture with her, and it is MC who opening the Door for such a conversation to happen :
BeingADIK 2023-07-18 09-44-15-29.jpg

so after this long Analysis I would really much appreciate if you Stop Painting Josy as some emotional mess who constantly guiltriping and chasing the MC , chasing a buss that not picking her up..

if anything it is the MC ( and in some extent the players ) Who can't let bygone be bygone.
so Much that He is willing to invite his EX girlfriend to a Party where he is currently together with another girl, Because he is an idiot, who want everyone to be friend and one big family. :ROFLMAO:

Knowing Dawe, he probably just used a slur around Troy, setting him off. Troy seems to have a very short fuse, and Dawe is just an idiot, so it's not too hard to imagine.

For all we know, when Chad went to the MC's room to steal the guitar, that could have been what set him and Troy down the path. He would have known him already, and maybe Troy tried to stop Chad from taking the guitar since that was the only thing you did that Troy liked, hence the black eye. Maybe Chad went back to apologize after being suspended and that led to their relationship starting.
It doesn't add up, because when MC first met Sage, she mentioned that she found women panties in Chad's gym bag. It's happened in first day and first hours of MC in B&R. He even didn't get his dorm room with Troy at that moment. So, they already were in this "relationship". And since Jade warned Sage some time ago, or perhaps hinted to her about Chad, that means a lot too. Sage herself is clearly unhappy with Chad's behavior and attitude towards her as a woman.

There's really no point in discussing Chad and Sage's relationship. Because it's not just a fiction, but a bad fiction. This is a failure of the DPC as a writer. And nothing more. We see Sage, and understand, that this is not the kind of girl who will tolerate a dismissive attitude towards herself, even more so for three years. This is nonsense.

We don't have 100% evidence that during the entire relationship they never were intimate, . And top of that Sage is shown to be a leader who Respect the Traditions, so not enterly unthinkable that she stick around in a relationship like that purely because that's what her Responsibility as a Leader.
