Like I said earlier, if that's the story they wanna tell, that's fine. Just make it a kinetic novel. What's the point in wasting my time and making me have the conversation over again, only with the "choices" they want?
I understand what you're saying, but literally every game does this. There is no game where you can type anything you want to say in and have the game adapt to your commands. If you want that, your only choice is to play a pen and paper RPG with a human game master.

Some games branch and cover multiple stories, but, literally, 1 significant branch cuts the story in half. 4 makes it 1/16th as long as it would have been without the branches. I did this in Life Changes for Keeley and the prevailing feedback was that it was too short because people only played the branch they liked.

Some games do a "Game Over" when you make the wrong choices. I did that with Dreaming with Elsa, and I had people wanting to throw their computer through the window when the game ended. They didn't just have to have one conversation again, they had to play the entire game again.

Some games let you continue on when you make wrong choices, but hold something back. I did this in Finding Miranda where you didn't get to see the sex scene, but the game continued. OMG, the vitriol that brought!

Some games have what I'll call "Roleplaying" choices, where the choice literally doesn't matter. Whichever one you pick, the game progresses in the same way. I've added some of this in a few games, this one included, but have never gotten feedback that people found it satisfying.

And some "games" have no choices at all. I've written a ton of those, and the overwhelming feedback is, "Why would I play something where I don't even get to make choices?"

The feedback I was trying to address with this game was from people who said they refused to play a game that didn't have a walkthrough. I was trying to give them an acceptable way to play without losing too much for making wrong choices. And I tried to make the "failures" less traumatizing by giving them an in-game, in-story scene that helped them understand what they should do.

How is she still employed?(y)
It remains to be seen how long she will be. Culture sections in "newspapers" are one of those things you kind of need to have, but will never be popular. Shocking headlines sell, (or, in today's world, generate clicks), but people still want to know what's going on in their city.

I have the initial workings for a short story involving Ming and Jenn running around in my head. Assuming I write it, it will most likely address this issue.

thank you so much brother I was worried because they talked about

being in a relationship with four people

I'm going back to play it right now
To be clear, there is a foursome sex scene in the game, but I explicitly made it separate from the rest of the game (it's in the Gallery) so that you don't need to play it. I wanted people to be able to decide whether or not that happened. In my mind, I'm fine either way.

But a lot of people do like that.
In fact, Getting to Know Christine is Tlaero & Phreaky most successful game, and one still on the top 10 at Playforce One after 7 years and it is explicitly about rigid submissiveness!
And it's been played by well over a million people...

Their production value just keeps getting better. Just out of curiosity is there a compilation thread for all of their games? If not someone should really throw it together.

Love all of your games, but this one bothers me. Doesent seem like Serena truly loves or even likes Joel. Just seems like shes pitying him and just settled when Paul wasnt avaliable. played through but i completely lost interest because Serena seems like a cheating bitch and would jump on Pauls dick the first chance she got.

"Honey, why have you been crying and getting wasted?"
"Oh you see, the man i actually love, who ive been madly in love with even before and during our relationship is getting married"

Like fuck that bitch really, she never loved him? I would think that, like "oh i just wasted several years into a relationship that she never really cared for". Thats the message shes sending, and the only way is to become the biggest simp ever, borderline into cuck territory. Serena says the right things, like that they should agree together if they will swing etc. But shes a snake i know it.

Especially because in one of the endings in "Saving Chloe" you end up together with Serena... AS PAUL, like why do my man Joel like this, not only does he have PTSD, but he has this shit do deal with.

Sorry for the rant, im very lonely.

I can't shake the feeling that Chasing Beth is not quite at the level of the previous games in terms of the storytelling after finishing it yesterday, so I tried to find out why by replaying the game today.

Oh, come on. Don't use an alternative, non-canonical timeline in which everything happens differently to justify your 'hate' for a certain character. The only way Serena ends up with Paul in SC is when you, playing as Paul, choose her over Chloe or decide Chloe is not the girl you knew anymore, so you're closing that chapter of your life and feel free to explore other feelings. But in the canon path Paul never second guessed himself about his feelings, he just took a day off work (he doesn't even talk to Serena at all in the whole canonical path) and ended that very same day making love to his long-lost crush. Canonical Serena just accepted those feelings he had as she has always done and then moved on, and she finally met a man (Joel) as sensitive and 'badass' as she likes. Does she loves him? Well, he's the first and only man he has slept with since she met Paul, which is something. No one is forcing her to 'take pity' of him, she could just use him as she used other girls back when Pul was still 'available', but she chose to stay. So there's definitely something more than pity.

Also, if you actually read how those scenes are presented, there's nothing that indicates that she will jump on Paul dick. Quite the opposite.

. And unless you consider that being a supportive person for the person you love is 'being a simp', that's not what we have here from Joel, either.

First of all, thank you Tlaero and Morze.
Sharing this game is a wonderful Christmas present.

I’ve been a fan since the very beginning, I played everything you published, and I can definitely say I love your work.
I’d like to share my opinion and what struck me about the game with you.
I believe this is quite a different game from the others you made. This is due to the fact that the format was focused on the relationship building, while the events that brought forward the Elsaverse overall story made the frame. In Saving Chloe we saw this format changing a little, but in Chasing Beth we see this format completely reversed. The whole game is focused on two things: what’s happening in Sangrieve and what’s happening in Joel’s mind. The two poles around which the game is built are Joel and Beth, two people connected by a painful past experience.
Serena makes the frame of the game (an important and gorgeous frame), and this results in a less intimate connection the player can reach with her. Jess, Elsa and Miranda had much more screen time than Serena had, so we could dig deeper in their mind and their character than we do in Serena’s.
However, this does not make a problem, since Chasing Beth is a different game with a different story to tell, and it manages to do that in a very elegant and effective way.

Joel is definitely among the best protagonists of the Elsaverse: he’s very well built, with a clear and structured personality, a great look, a past to tell and a few scars in his soul. I’m sure we’ll see more of him; he surely has a lot of potential.
Both Serena and Joel are broken, there’s not one character who focus on helping the other and making him feel better, they both have problems and pain, and they just support each other at the best of their skills. They have a great heart, and both feel impressive gratitude toward the other.
All these things make Chasing Beth a new kind of game in your production, I don’t know where this will lead, but I’m very interested.

I’ve been wondering, is Tanya a Tlaero avatar? I had that feeling but I really couldn’t tell.
By the way, could you please tell us something more about Tanya and Tony? I’d really love to know more about them.
One of the few things I didn’t appreciate is that, during sex, Joel followed his partner instructions (there are just a few exceptions), and I read that as a lack of initiative, which is not an appealing feature, in my opinion.

Tlaero, once again, shows her talent as a writer and as an even greater storyteller. I marvelled at how great the narrative of your game is. The intersections and narrative pretexts are brilliant, I have a great respect for you and your skills.
Mortze is a great artist, his pictures are wonderful and intense, but what really struck me was the fact that I could find extremely sensual images that had little to do with sex or sexuality. For example, the scenes where Beth and her friend spent the night at Joel’s house were not sexual, but god… I found them incredibly erotic!

As I said, I’ve played every game of yours, and the first bonus of Chasing Beth is the most erotic and powerful sex scene I’ve ever found in a Tora Productions game. Unbelievably hot. Mortze, I know it comes from you, and I just want to say that you outdid yourself, great work!
It remembered me a lot the RfJ bonus scene, but this was explosive, sensual, intense and enthralling. I love swinging, that’s a fantasy of mine, and I love MMF, seeing more scenes like that in your games would be a dream of mine.

After this game, after the bonus scene, after the years of enjoinment, pleasure, laughs, and passion you gave me, I decided to become a patron. I’ve never spent a cent for porn, and I don’t plan to do that in the future. What I will do is supporting a team of wonderful people who creates games I love and value.
You deserve it. Thank you for everything you do, you’re great.

I know that the hate is unjustified really. Its just how i felt while playing, couldnt enjoy it fully after that revelation. I dont want to feel like a second price. This is entirely my own feelings, i wouldnt want to stay with someone who was in love with someone else during the time we were together.
As you said, there is nothing indiciating or justifying why she would leave Joel, only personal experiences and feelings, Its just one scene of the game and she proves her lovet throughout, but it bothered ME to much. DOnt hate the game, hate the player i guess xd

thank you for actually reading and taking the time to respond <3

Sorry, I was suffering from my booster shot yesterday, and my brain wasn't fully working. Chasing Beth is the 6th game. The rest are shorter stories with no player choices.

Tlaero
To be honest its really about how you count. You could easily go and say it's number 8th, with Elsas Nightmares being 6th and Elsaverse Transitions being 7th

btw Tlaero I love how you are able to intertwine the storys so naturally. Especially with the Novel "AAA", when scenes from the games are getting explained a lot more logical and appear less random :D

any one can send me a complete save file?? i gave up after 5 times repeating the same shit at the start!
There are only 4 choices in that scene, and Tanya explicitly tells you what not to do. I wouldn't think it would have been possible to get it wrong 5 times.

As for people who felt that they weren't as involved in the characters as previous games, I understand your feedback. Those games were, "Meet and fall in love with a girl," which is a different story than the one I wanted to tell here. There was a meet and fall in love with Serena story in the past, but I didn't tell it. I told the story of later in their relationship, past the "OMG everything is wonderful" first few days and into the part where stuff happens and relationships get tested. Life is messy, and relationships take work.

I've told the "Meet and fall in love with a girl" story so many times, that I wanted to do something else. No outside forces caused me to shorten this or do something different than I wanted to with it. This was the story I wanted to tell, the way I wanted to tell it.

It's okay if you like the other stories better. I appreciate you folks playing and enjoying any of my games.

Thank you, Lucifer. I'm immensely glad that you enjoyed the game.

Tanya is the "Tara" model, which is my avatar. In many of my previous games, when you got to a game over, I'd put a quick message from me with some general advice on what to do differently. This time I personified that advice more. There will be more information about T&T in future games, but if you have specific questions, feel free to ask them. I'll answer the ones that aren't spoilers for future games.

As for Joel following his partner's instructions during sex, that's interesting. I didn't do that intentionally, but can see that it kind of came out that way. In many (real life) MF relationships, the man enjoys/wants sex more than the woman does, which leads to friction. Many times, what the man wants more than anything is for the woman to enjoy it as much as he does. And her telling him what to do is a sure sign of her enjoying it. I think I was sub-consciously showing that in these scenes. But, I won't say that I was trying to send any sort of message with it. Thank you for pointing it out.

Thank you, Praenuntius. Doing multiple games with multiple protagonists allows me to do this. I know that I could be much more "popular" if I did a single harem game that ran updates forever, but that's not the story I want to tell. I appreciate that there are people willing to play a variety of games and game types.
