At first I read 'Cumming home is never easy':p
Spending too much time in these things. Now I see Cumming instead of coming everywhere.
I liked what the dev said about ntr and stuff. You already got fan. Will try it.
BTW how old is the mc? He looks like in his late 30s:unsure:

Hey Jethro Hatfield! I like talking out my ass all the time without really playing and experiencing something, so why don't I try my hand at it again :)

There is a lot of repetition in games like these. Visual Novels in general. There is a focal point (incest, romance, harem, school, management, sci-fi) and these tend to drive tropes that we've all come to see and expect and sometimes, deplore. Then I ask, why do people play them? Some get bored, it's true. Simple answer: It's because most people like them. We just like it told a different way the next time. Even small devations make the simplest and barest tropes vibrant (Radiant :D)

I initially came into this thread negative, but I'm not leaving it negative. Not positive mind you, but I'll try to explain. A game like the one you guys decided to make is brave. It's as brave as it is stupid. I don't mean that as an insult really, it's different. Different often times is the "wrong" thing in many situations. I have no doubt that your story will drive us to happy tears and will give us a new appreciation for what "different" can be. The sad thing is, I can't play/read it. There is a high barrier to entry. The negative and depressing nature is not ideal for many people to hold onto, even if it's only the beginning. The game you are trying to tell, might be incredible and I damn hope you can make it the best story it can be. But sadly I won't be around to see it. It's too much for me and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I don't know who your audience is, but it's not the ones looking for wholesome to escape their own problems. Then again, there are people stronger than me, and I hope they find your game.

That said, in the future, when you've finished this game and are making more money than Jesus (fingers crossed :D) I hope you can make something that doesn't make people go into a depressive episode just by hearing what it's about. Have a great day and I give you my heartfelt good luck and also wish that your heroines get the happiness they deserve!

Never have I ever wanted to beat any fictional this much as this douche rapist. And what's more annoying is that he got a almost peaceful death. I still somehow wish he wasn't dead and we could beat the shit out of the little bastard.
Renders could use a little work as some looks grainy. Waiting to see what happens next.

Aksayuk Where I could simply say stay tuned, I will clarify this with, "She never got to drink the final shot, and instead it ended up on the floor with the shattered glass."

IAmNotAnAlien Your comment and several others on here have shown me I can still write a character that people can hate. It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside. While people have expressed their desire to... handle... the John situation, it is my hope that people will take that same passion and redirect it to helping his other victims. As a major F*** you point to John. "You can't hurt them any more. I am here for them now."

It takes skills to write characters that people loves and also hate. And you certainly got that.
A word of advice if will indulge me. If possible try to upscale the renders a little rather to do so in the later chapters as it would take a lot of work later.

Larry2000 Thank you for your thoughts. I hope somewhere down the line you find yourself able to give Coming Home is Never Easy a chance. It may start out in a dark place but it certainly will not stay there. I understand the high barrier, but I've often found that sometimes the most rewarding stories start out as nearly unstomachable (And yes for those grammar Nazi's out there I know it isn't a real word.)

I have learned from both experience in life and as an avid reader that these stories aren't necessarily for everyone. However I will try to incorporate something in our story for anyone who gives this a try. And I will always be open to discussion with anyone that wants to voice their opinion on our story, good or bad, as this is a project I hope many will overlook their initial first impressions and give a try, I want to continually improve my story telling abilities and provide content for MANY years to come.

IAmNotAnAlien I welcome your advice and opinions. We have upscaled the "renders" to the ability that our current rig builds will allow. As time continues on and we begin to bring in more funding we intend to upgrade our rigs to allow for better quality art. At some point we are even considering transitioning into DAZ, when our equipment can handle it.

And thank you for the props on character writing. I spent many sleepless nights considering the characters individuality and personal issues they've been saddled with, placing myself in their shoes and I believe the term is considered to be "Method Acting" their personalities.

You don't have to worry, I'm sure you can reach your goal and tell a truly rich story. As for me, it's not a fun topic at all for me. It goes beyond a narrative device and is definitely a trigger for me. I couldn't play it and completely separate those toxic themes from my mind. It's not about the destination for me, it's about the entire journey. I very much enjoy great story telling but if the story stabs my eyes, binds my limbs and tortures my torso, it doesn't matter what is to come.

I appreciate your reply. Thanks for listening to a professed nonreader of your game (You'll have to forgive my grammar too :)) Oh, one thing that I just thought about. Maybe I said this, I don't know. But I think the themes are dark, and I probably wouldn't play it even it didn't involve Love Interests/Heroines, but I know that it's a hard no when it involves LI's, at least for me. If the game's story revolved around a man trying to fix the problems of his father and the trauma he incurred on his family, it'd be fine. But, there is a disonance between helping victims of rape and romancing them. It goes into creepy themes of grooming, manipulation and coercion. Regardless of intent, these can be fair critiques when looked through this lens. Those are my quick thoughts on it.

The last paragraph was more a thought, I'm not judging your work. You keep going. Next game should be about falling in love with rainbows and hugging clouds to heal us. :p

Hey BTLD. Yes we are still in development albeit slowly. Real life job has been insane limiting dev time. We are looking at a possible story overhaul as the current story seems more appropriate for a mystery/ thriller novel and less of a porn novel for here. It just isn't feasible to tell in this medium.

Our new story will have the same characters but a different plotline. It is going to be more streamlined and cohesive than the previous plot.

Stay tuned we will be making a more in depth announcement soon.

Okay...

Let the crazy responses commence...

In response to the current feedback on our initial release, we have decided to re-vamp the entire story. And I am asking now for your input.

If you could change something about this story, story-wise that is... artwork will still be done in HS2. What would you all change?

FYI I am already changing the "Rape" issue. So please let's not flood the thread with this response. What else?

What would you like to see in our story, that you feel would make it stand apart from the others and still be enjoyable?

I feel like you may have missed the part of, "I've decided to re-vamp the story." Which means all new story, no rape in it...

The problem with your request is we didn't get into the story at all so far so we don't know where you were going to know what we would like changed. Just do you.
