Just finished the last update. Well, lewd scenes in this one are much better than in the few previous ones. But I won't stop complaining about the number of girls. It is already ridiculous in the worst meaning of this word. And encounters with them always goes in the same script:
- Hello, I am *her name* and you are Matsumoto-sensei, right?
- Hello, nice to meet you. You actually can call me by the first name. How come we never met in school?
- I don't know. But let me tell you the difference between me and other girls *she talks about her hobby or about where she is from*
- Wow, so interesting. I hope to meet you again soon, goodbye *speaks to himself how hot she is*

As I mentioned in my review, there are far too many characters constantly being introduced into the story... And the amount of story for even just a few characters is usually really thinned out, which causes harm to the main story overall... It doesn't help that the developers are selling custom characters (for a huge amount of monthly dollars) in order to pander to their paying audience... It's why I'm beginning to believe this project is overreaching, and it's now just about the money over a highly lengthy development cycle, rather then producing an overall good product to read/view... You can't just keep adding more and more characters and expect the story to not suffer because of it, just so you can make more money in the short term... Because the long term just ends up becoming diluted and strained, going in far too many directions at once...

I see it in how tiny the content is with just a few of those characters throughout week 2... Just too much going on, with too many non-interweaving characters, with just short stints of content revolving around a few of them with each content update, that the story as a whole becomes less and less of a priority as all those characters randomly get short amounts of content generated each week... You get lost in this ocean of characters, that may or may not have anything to do with the main plot line... Almost to the point of causing the main plot line to become obscured if not disappear entirely...

Add to that, we're only getting a current average of 2 weeks of content in a real time year... With the overall goal of 365 days of total content, this project is gonna take an eternity to complete, if it ever gets that far...

I don't want to say this project is now mostly about greed, but what I thought was a fun and interesting story in week 1 is becoming this thinned out creation that appears to be now, just about sustaining the high monthly income, rather then creating a fun and interesting story based erotic visual novel....

The biggest gripe with the format is how many for example turned out to be a Martial Arts Club member which is where he spent most of the club scenes so it was hard sell to have them ALL just not be there on his days. They should have said they were all in fact gardening club members or something which would explain why we had not seen them before but I guess with T8s the patron prob had the club they are in mind and thus martial arts club was their preference.

I understand you. It is normal when in these games not so many people as should be in places they take action in. But when every ingame day characters pop-out out of nowhere, you start asking questions and this ruins the whole picture.

Totally agree. For me, it is as clear as day that this project only about money. And it is normal, at least they produce content regularly (not like some other guy who creates hs game about school). But their decisions about how to milk money are terrible. When I have finished the last update it seemed pretty good. But now, when I think about it, we got a big portion of new characters and almost zero progression with the old ones. I guess a lot of people are ok with the eternal story which becomes less and less focused on something, but I'm going to search for something to replace ES and it makes me sad, this game had a lot of potentials.

I haven't played the latest update but the amount of girls kinda kills me. I genuinely appreciate the main plot with Hiroko and Matsu's past and introduction of Panini girl(forgot the name) and sometimes its frustrating to see this story get sidelined b/c of rest of the characters need some screen time too.

For me, this intro sounds just like an excuse to milk patrons as long as they can. "The biggest and the longest vn" doesn't sound like an achievement when you have nothing to offer except porn and hundreds of characters without a story.

But porn with hundreds of characters is a huge selling point for the game. If you only want a handful of girls then theres 99% of other games for you to enjoy. There isn't a single game, barring some that just randomly generate characters (like LifePlay), that has anywhere even close to the amount of girls that this one has. And I totally get that's not everyone's cup of tea. But that's what this game is. That's what it's advertised as. If banging a whole bunch of schoolgirl cuties and their moms is not your thing, cool.

I don't think thats what people are complaining about, every update adds new characters and its new content but old characters are ignores and story barely gets progression. For example Tomoe is one of the first characters you meet and as far we know she is probably still a virgin lol. I don't think people would be complaining if the older characters got some progressions along side new characters being added.

Well, I barely even went into the erotic content, in my review, as it is pretty spread out... With so many different side plots and more characters then you can shake a stick at, post Week 1 is becoming rather diluted... I think it can still do well, with far less characters, especially in the early days since it's supposedly going to go a full year of in-game time... I'm not even sure at this point if it will ever reach that overall goal, as it is going to take probably a decade, or more, to get that far (based off the current trend), unless they really start taking even more story short cuts... If it sticks with it's current average of 2 weeks of content per real year of development, with a goal of 52 weeks of total in-game content, that will be around 25+ years of real development time... I just don't see that really happening...

They are currently receiving around 6 grand a month in donations just from Patreon alone, and they were making bank even a year ago... Even if they ramp up development, which would require hiring more people, what would that do? Maybe cut the total development time in half, so around 10+ years, if they don't opt to take short cuts and downgrade the quality of the overall product more then they already have, with so many active characters and dozens of mini-plots... In order to get the full year of in-game content done in even a semi-realistic time frame...

I really did enjoy the first week of game time, even though I thought the number of characters at that point was already getting rather high... But with so many more characters, and so little content devoted to only a tiny handful of them per game week, you end up just thinning the promising story development of the first week, to a point where the story no longer feels stable and meaningful... Perhaps the developers did have the original intention of just making a porn focused VN with a thinned out story to fill in the gaps... But with as much story telling as we see, between all the erotic stuff, it sure seems like they want to tell a fun and interesting story, rather than just throwing back to back porn at everyone... Yet, because everything is so spread out, with so many characters and etc, the overall story ends up suffering... And if that trend just keeps going, getting thinner and thinner, with more and more pointless characters and tiny side content, then all we'll end up with at some point is a porn fest with lots of pointless text between the scenes...

I'm basing all these observations off what I'm seeing as a current trend... I'm not trying to tell folks to stay away from it... In fact, I want it to be successful, just for all the right reasons and in all the right ways... But I just feel a bit let down, based off my prior experience with week 1 compared to what I'm seeing with the last years worth of content, coupled with the greed like business practices of the developers Patreon site... Are we truly getting 6+ grand a month worth of development? Is the quality as high as their income should suggest? I had high hopes and expectations from this project, based off the previous years content... But will it keep that hope alive, is it keeping that hope alive, or will it slowly tear itself apart in far too many directions?

I see your point, which kind of plays into some of the points I was trying to make... Lets look at Sloth-chan for a moment, she was one of the more unique and fun like characters from Week 1... Yet in Week 2, all we get is her sun bathing on a roof in one image, followed by a few very brief moments of her in the bar and elsewhere... Heck, we get more story and screen time with regards to her sister, another of the many new characters introduced in week 2, then we do with Sloth-chan herself... Don't get me wrong, we do get to see some new content with several of the main characters of Week 1, but it's either not really all that much, or it's just them so happening to be in the same scenes more or less devoted to introducing even more characters... They basically have bit walk-on parts, cameo's if you will...

If you're not into the idea of fucking many, many schoolgirls/women and would rather only have relations with a few girls while getting to know them over a long period of time then this is not the game for you. Flat out. Not for you. Because there will be more and more girls added as times goes on. And the "story" will not move at anything resembling a brisk pace. There are many, many other games that focus on only a small number of girls and the MC building a relationship with them. Ecchi Sensei is not that game. Ecchi Sensei is about fucking an entire school full of girls and a whole bunch of others as well.

Quality is extremely subjective, so I can't help you there. If you're not enjoying it, that's cool. Cut your ties and go find something else you like. Ecchi Sensei is an extremely unique title that basically nothing else can come even close to matching in terms of sheer content. BlueCat's Patreon has steadily grown, so it's clear at least in the court of their supporters that they're doing a good job.

While I love this game, it has been a complaint of mine for several updates now that they are trying to cram too many girls into the game too quickly, all to just meet some arbitrary target of having the MC involved in sex acts with 100 girls/women.

While that target is not impossible, it is sacrificing story by brushing over several interesting characters just to introduce new ones. I'm starting to get irritated by all the new characters because I don't care for them like I do for the initial ones. And that is because they haven't had enough screen time to develop an interesting backdrop.

Sadly, this game is fast changing from an interesting premise of a story into just a meaningless porno cumshot compilation.

Complaining about a free game on a pirate site, This game is by far one of the best games today on this site and as harmking has stated this game will grow even bigger with characters as this is stated in the advertisement and description of this game. I know it's frustrating waiting on content for a particular sex scene to happen with one of your favorite characters but it will come eventually, just like in plenty of other games you will have to wait for sex scenes with a certain character.
Can't really complain about the amount of content in this game considering how frequently it gets updated, and accusing the devs of making it into a money making scheme on a pirate site is kind of hypocritical considering a big majority of people probably don't even pledge to the devs on patreon etc... I wish I could afford to donate to plenty of devs but sadly I can't afford to due to poor health and being unable to work.
Anyway I won't go on any further and just want to say I love this game and really appreciate the work put into it for my and everyone's else's enjoyment thank you devs. P.S sorry for the rant lol

I completely understand, and it is true, some folks just will not care at all if the initial premise in the first year of development, just devolves... Not all, but I'm sure plenty of folks out there just skip through the story anyway, just to get to the erotic content...

Really, the reason so many folks are buggered about how things are going in the recent year, is that this VN seems to be losing some of it's focus... The first week of in-game content, even though it did have a lot of characters, still had plenty of focused content on most of the primary characters... It showed a lot of promise in how it's story progressed, how it was told, how meaningful it felt with many of the characters... But with the advent of so many new characters, and the latest content only briefly involving a minor amount of story about the characters people fell in love with from Week 1... It feels like this project has in a sense changed gears... Stretching out the story lines for the original characters, into thin wafers, while force feeding us a bunch of other characters that don't feel as well developed as the originals... I would have to hazard a guess that most were never intended to be in the story, and are basically just being added to make some quick cash...

Perhaps some folks want that, and could really care less about the story, or could care less about any promise that first week had... I just think it's a shame the developers are deciding to take what might have been a great story and choosing to instead just milk the project through the selling of custom content voting rights, personalized custom characters, and other money making gimmicks... With the futures only real unique premise of this project being a highly lengthy future of pointless characters thrown at the audience, some occasional short erotic content, a ever thinning main story, and very little else... If it continues like that, eventually the story telling will just become this chaotic mess...

Only reason I looked past the lower quality visuals is because I thought the story in Week 1 was fun and interesting... Week 2's visuals have actually degraded slightly from week 1's visuals, along with the thinning story lines...

I don't hate this VN... But I do feel sorry for what I'm beginning to see happening in both the story telling and the lack of focus... And it shouldn't matter if it's a pirated copy or not... The point of this thread is to have conversations about this project... To talk about the good things, the bad things, or even showing indifference... I'm not asking you to agree with me... Just voicing my thoughts and opinions along side my fellow community members...
