So, after about 2 years all we get is 2 days...
Colour me interested but not convinced.
What the actual fuck?
I was almost convinced BC bailed ES and all . Also, disappointing to see it's a "whopping" 2 days after 2 years of "still working on it" IIRC.
I still have doubts and this proves what we initially suspected that BlueCat might release an update to shut people up. We'll know for sure if we get a couple more updates that he is genuine, but as of now, this means absolutely nothing.
Plus that line at the end sounds like something a cult leader would say feeding his followers hot air.
wake me up when the merged first month is done
Really? where is the month 1 as you promised......
The best idea would be to remove all the superfluous features that nobody really needs and add them back in if and when the project is complete. Will def need to see a minimum of 3 update releases on a consistent schedule before I start feeling any form of faith for it though, but I like the game enough that I'm willing to get back on board if that's followed through on.
have to say i am glad that things are looking upwards now. i kinda lost all hope.
if BC reads this (though i doubt it):
you don´t need fancy features especiallly if they are that much of a problem. i mean i can even live with now month 1 & just have it divided by weeks. keep up the good work as i pray it will revert to the way it was before
Glad to have an update
Sad to see that the Dev still insists on using precious developing time on changes that nobody asked....
The game was great as it was, nobody asked for a new foundation, nobody asked for a fucking smartphone, but well, guess the Dev wants that and its his/her game....
So much time wasted though...
EDIT: Also, i wish Devs would stop changing the playstyle of their games, many of us hate the sandbox elements, so changing it in the middle of the game is a shitty move, specially since every time a poll is made about VN vs Sandbox, VN style always wins
Has it really been two years? I thought my mind was just exaggerating with how I almost forgot this existed.
Anyway; it seems there are some mechanical issues, like with carrying over saves? I lost mine anyway, but I don't feel like playing through the whole thing again with the possibility of my progress being nuked again. I've gone this long without playing it, I can go longer- if I don't just forget it existed again, at least.
While I'm glad to see this get an actual update and not just a Halloween special or something, think I'm going to hold off on it for now. Forgot so much that I'll likely have to restart the whole game, and don't have the time or energy for that right now.
The game is simply too big even compressed. I don't even have an android port of the first week, plus it would be a huge mess. I've tried using JoiPlay but it's useless in my experience.
It is recommended to play from the beginning so your choices carry over. However, if you don't care about that you can start a new game for the current update no problem.
Oh, I see. In that case, I hope you have lots of bandwidth. Basically, you need:
Week 1 - Days 1-7 Final (Under previous weeks)
Week 2 - Days 8-14 Final (Under previous weeks)
Week 3 - Days 15-21
Day 22-23 Final
Make sure to get the appropriate DM Patches for the correct days/week, they should be labeled correctly.
Treat them like different games with different saves. Do not just put them all in the same folder, because if they were the same game (like the dev promised a compiled Month 1 but failed to deliver as of yet) they wouldn't be separate downloads.
But basically, when you finish each part, import your saves into the next one. The game should tell you how to do that after finishing each part.
The holiday specials aren't essential and I don't recommend playing the ones not included as part of the weeks/days I already mentioned. They are just side-stories (Unsure if they are even canon) and suck ass balls in my opinion (especially the what if new year one).
I mentioned before after you finish each week you save before it takes you back to the main menu. You then take that save from the previous week and when you start a new game on the following week you import the previous week save. Thus, your choices carry over.
Week 1 > Week 2 > Week 3 and so on.
If you want all the content you need to download each week and they all take different patches, there's also specials too
So this has the pregnancy tag but how much is actually in it? Tried searching around the thread for more info and didn't find much, at least a answer from this year.
Prior to this update and dependant on your choices its 3. Hiroko, Tanami, & Satsune. Haruka i guess also could be pregnant
Thought about downloading this from day 1 to 23. Got this 22-23 and 15-21. Then started to look patches. Early week patches are missing and then didn't find something else. Also earlier week compressed files are missing. Second week is like 16 GB in size. Nah. Nope. Fuck this game. Haven't played this game like 2 years or so. Save files are long gone. Wanted to start from beginning but with patches missing and files as big as 16 GB. Nah. Fuck it.
well well well well well; like Smaug waking up from his 60-year nap in Erebor, looks like the abandoned tag was our own little Bilbo...
FIRST OF ALL...like
Pathalfurt said; if links to previous weeks aren't working or compressed, n DM patch links aren't working, then ALL OF THIS ever since the update dropped MEANS NOTHING. as an OG fan of this game going all the way back to when it only existed in 2-day increments (which at the time was only Days 1-2, 3-4, n 5-6; so not even a full week), n the w/t consisted of a schematic/tree branch configuration, yes...at one point-n-time all the compressed links n their respective DM patches did work, up thru Days 20-21.
SECOND...if n when either the mods or the thread's OP poster (
7767) are ever able to update previous weeks n DM patches links, then
LordMerek did the best job of explaining how to functionally play this from Day 1 up to the current version; which is why i quoted his messages about how to do this. n like he (n others) have said, but i'm doing here for summary purposes (including everything someone needs to know to play this from the start), EACH WEEK IS IT'S OWN GAME.
the ONLY thing the save from the end of 1 week carried over to the next does is import the impacts of your decisions from the previous week...OLD SAVES WILL NOT CARRY OVER FROM THE PREVIOUS WEEK, n you CANNOT REPLAY THEM IN THE FOLLOWING WEEK. so if that's what u wanna do, then u need to keep each week saved as an individual game in order to do that.
So at this point players have 2 choices if they want to play the game w/no bugs n all content: 1) wait for all the older links to be updated so everything works, DM content can be included, n choices matter;
OR...2) wait for the 1-month merge to be released; n who the fuck knows if-n-when that ever happens. n
CLEARLY there's no way on God's green earth BC is gonna be able to do 365 in-game days worth of content.
pretty sure by this point best option would be to go the 3-month route, n make this a summer school storyline, not 9-month or even 4-5 month-long semester timeline (although he's raked in more than enuff dead money over the last 2 years to be able to pay other ppl to help expedite the amount of content created n released).
regardless, I (like many others have said previously) am not even gonna begin to invest any time in this until the 1-month merge, or this n any future week 4 update content is playable without errors popping up whenever trying to use the cell phone (from what i've read, u can still read the messages afterwards by ignoring the error message, then opening the phone n clicking on whoever texted Matsu...all the current messages then show up on it).
UPDATE for the posts that just dropped about the cell phone texting error messages...
Well there seems to be some problems . As excample by this 2 Options i get errors

Hmm it seems everytime when the MC get a Message and want to open it it will be have an error
The messages can't be read due to bugs and there was hardly any content considering this update took almost 2 years. The two new characters are interesting but I'd first like more content with the already existing characters. But oh well.. I'm glad the hasn't been truly abandoned.
I dont understand whats the point in releasing broken stuff....
Ok i can confirm that now. Everytime when the MC use the Phone because of a Message it will end in a Error
read the text just before your guys' messages (like literally right above them)...n if this works, I can't take credit for it; thank
Crowangel
i had this too.. phone appeared, the typing message dots just endlessly came up, backed out of phone and opened messages and the whole convo then is readable but not when needed during the auto phone activation
Is the light compressed version of week one not animated? Just had a scene with Tanami in her office and it's just click still shots? Or is this because it's the start of the game and inmations aren't really a thing yet
IIRC, there aren't any animations in the game at all. n so many useless "extra" game elements that i'm pretty sure are mucking things up...calendar, character info cards, phone, map, etc (whatever all the useless icons in the upper right corner used to be, that when u hovered over them, said "coming soon"). n as much as i hate to say it, BC seemingly did always plan for this to be a sandbox game, not a true VN, due to the map element icon, implying the introduction of the sandbox element.
i, like many many many others, hate the sandbox format (along w/the RPGm; can't believe that's still even used). n if this is the direction he decides to go, then i too am done w/this; too many other games out there, n as much as this was my fav once upon a time, i refuse to be forced to play any VNs using a sandbox format (unless
MAYBE there's a step-by-step w/t of what to click on, n when/what time of day)
