so it's been ~5 years and this game is still hasn't even come close to full release? Sounding like another dev milking their patreons. I remember playing a demo of this game years ago FFS

There can be a lot of unexpected roadblocks for someone's first game, but yeah, we're a few years past any other explanation but them just not working on it in the first place. Much like other games though, at this point its kinda just outdated and mundane, I don't even care anymore despite being interested many years ago lol. Why was this thread updated?
Yeah I found them bothersome as well - the fans in general. IIRC you need to turn off the switch to the right to disable the top fan, leaving it in a position you can land on top of and jump from it. I think you can press jump while being blown by the fan to get a bit of extra heigh but don't quote me on that.

HW released the actual final demo for the first level. Other than some bugfixes here and there, as well as this level's boss fight, this is exactly how the first level will play out in the full game. And you can even use the save file from this demo on the full game once it releases within the next 2 months ( a l l e g e d l y ). According to the most recent Progress Report, there's only 1 big cutscene left to implement in each of the 5 levels and then it'll be completed and published ( a l l e g e d l y ).

i heard there were some polls where it showed many people wanted those things and also vast majority voted for delaying the game until completion vs releasing as-is and updating on the go
idk who voted there though i guess patrons and fans who use twitter? maybe vast majority of f95 people don't want that and could have been a big voice but they didn't vote

Alright. Thoughts: As I was afraid, the story and amount of dialog is what I would call bloated. Maybe a platformer wasn't the best way to tell this story because every room it's WORDS WORDS WORDS. I was not engaged in the slightest with the story and I'd say the writing falls short where it would matter most in this sort of game: the H scenes. They aren't erotic or tantalizing in the slightest, they try to be aloof and funny, and they just aren't, so it fails on two fronts. Irony? Considering they're written by a guy whose name would suggest he might be good at this, but HentaiWriter is seemingly the worst at writing actual HENTAI.
I gave it an honest shot and I tried to give the story an honest chance but it's front and center and I just don't fucking care. Maybe a game like Lilith's Throne would have been a more interesting way to present the story because it really seems apparent that HW simply wanted a vehicle to tell his story he's obviously been kicking around since high school.
As for everything else, I get it's the first level so options haven't opened up yet but the power ups don't make the game play anymore interesting as I really only feel a handful of them (1 or 2) are truly worth the trouble to find. The images for gameover scenes are jarringly low res when in full screen but the animations that I saw in this level 5 years ago are still nice. However, given the dev time, I still feel like there could have been a few more added in because if you're in it for the H, you've seen it all already. But what do I know, I'm an entitled pirate, how dare I ask for more.
One complaint, if you go back to a drain pipe you opened and you get too close like if you jump up on the platform or take a wrong turn looking for a data bank you missed, you will automatically get locked into being sent back to the Hub. Just let the player jump in if they want or something.
I've done my fair share of shitting on this game and it's because I once had high hopes for it. My takeaway is playing the final product is going to feel like a slog because I've already found myself saying "Oh my god I don't care". I do not feel like I should look forward to the final product. All the databanks and cutscenes did not improve the experience of playing the complete level, and the moral categorization of choices feels tacked on despite it being well planned in advance given the myriad of endings purported to be at launch. File under asking for a full save a day after launch.
If you read all this, congrats on wasting your time reading what I wasted my time writing.

If im reading the progress report correctly it looks like theres less than 10 scenes left to add to the game before its officially "released"
Look again, the progress report also has the "remaining programming" category that includes Bug fixes, Win 11 optimization etc.
Some of those things can be used to further stall release date for a few months.
In game it looks even worse, they are saying the next demo will only be level 1 of the game and somehow thats considered a finished game release. They have shown at least 5 levels over the years so this thing could potentially take years more to make.
Hey HW I know you saw my post cuz you're crying on Discord about it. I give a lot of H games a shot even if everything isn't for me. Mad isn't even a descriptor here, I'm disappointed. I stopped being a patreon supporter back in 2019 do to the lack of demos coming out, It's kinda nuts how it's not finished yet.

i can't believe this game is still not only being worked on! But that people are still giving money to the devs this game had so much potential way back in the day key part there being (back in the day). but hey do what you will with your money i've fallen for a few money traps in my day looking at you MGI. if the devs actually manage to release the game i'll give it a shot! and if not it'll be thrown back into the dark a forgotten corners of the net.
This honestly feels like a completely different game and I don't know how to feel about it. I feel like other people have already said the things that I am feeling as well such as PM21 so I don't want to retype what has already been said. The one thing I will say is the personalities on some of the enemies are very off putting and annoying especially the Flame Trooper which was actually a boner killer.

Maybe you could do what that other guy said, but you should be able to just jump from below them as they're on and get up.
It's easier if you wiggle left and right as you're trying to ascend, the moment you're out of the draft gravity yanks you back down, also holding space will propel you higher faster.
Hilariously enough, it's not. Except for the addition of a lot of static NPCs to converse with, this demo is almost identical to the v0.49 Fire Level demo from February of 2021.
The intro to the level itself is mapped out slightly different, the room layout before dropping onto the main save pad was altered. But the only additions seem to be talking to the king at the start, and then a bunch of voiced words.
I saw basically everything you can in one go of the demo, got almost every achievement too. But I spent way, way more time talking to NPCs than actually playing a videogame.
I finally got an explanation that foreshadows why Talia turned into a blue demon in the boss loss scene from like 8 years ago, but the writing overall was very dry. As others said, the porn wasn't very erotic, and the scenes were finished long before I could.
