I stopped supporting his game too. I don't like this system for playing. Only with connection, and without you can't play. I don't understand this system. Just restriction. CG looking good, but… for nothing. If I can't play on different pc's wo internet…

I hope it doesn't break Glamour's neck, I wish all success to it etc etc.
Most of his supporters, the people that actually pay for the game, don't mind the online-only and everything-on-server. However as the game moves forward and the Grind shows up... many would wish for mods or at least cheats. When problems with the server eventually happen (he's new to this I think) then he may change his mind.

On the other hand, while a few people may be angry at not being able to play the game for 2-3 days or something, in the end, there will be 4-5 hours more content per month (grinding included). Not being able to play for a few days occassionally won't be too bad.

Hence, I am afraid he will not change his business model.
Hence, I stopped supporting his game.

Trust me they do mind they just wait what the next update brings to be sure of it but if DS doesnt deliver something with substance this time he will drop below 1,5k supporters and when that happens it will be to late for him to realize he f... up.

I mean lets be realistic here he dropped BB last year. Now thats almost 4 full months with nothing to show his supportes while other smaller devs with less income and a smaller team produce more content DS does in 4 months.

it doesnt take a genius to see where this is going. If ppl go from patreon away and support him on his website we would already know by know what that website is called.
MrDots and others already made their own website and generate the income over a different game but the moment someone calls Patreon on the secret content his supportes get he is out of patreon for good.

Frankly, it would be unrealistic to expect much content from the base-up in a new game in just 4 months with a platform change etc etc.
Add to this that DS spread out too thin over dozens of locations and wardrobes etc multiplying his workload. It would take more than 4 months for any content of substance. More like 6+ to start getting in some kind of story. And since DS wants to go after many stories ... I would say more than that.

The others create content in already made games with the characters, the code, the rooms etc in place.

HOWEVER:
I believe it would be much better (and honest) if he went on and said "guys and gals, sorry, but it will be 6+ months till we have content in place. Please keep supporting us and I'll give you nice incentives in the meantime, like nude high quality \ resolution poster pics of the characters or for those special few that pay X+ $... posters of chars involved in naughty fun determined by polls. I can do 3-5 of these per month while working on the project."
Instead of going for the "understanding" route, what does he do? He spends time and effort and workhours to make the game less appealing (no mods, server-side saves), make himself seem douchey as if there's a ton of people out to steal his work.

Sure, his game would be pirated. But few of those would be "I'll get Glamour by paying" then. I believe fewer than the people that would say "hmmm... interesting and worth of support." I.e. he limits his exposure and potential clients, not increase it.

It doesnt matter if others create content in already made games or not. He went to big to fast and he know it. Thats the golden rule in Game development you do NOT break. And that is "THINK BIGGER" even Triple A Titles from time to time break this rule and ruin their own franchise where they become to big to fast and never can reach the deadline which to the player feels like half the game was either rushed or certain items/elements are useless as no one deleted them out and the features they where meant for never made it into the game.

What you suggest he could not do cause if he tells ppl this upfront they leave and check back in 5 or 6 months and where does he get money from in that time period? Exactly. So he waits till they figure it out on their own and collects money like the debt collector in the middle ages.

Now he loses the ppl he pissed of with this.
The ppl who dont like the DRM.
The ppl who wanted to see more BB. (minority of leavers)
The ppl who simply had enough of this behaviour.

It starts to become easier to name the groups of ppl he didnt piss off and thats just sad. He is a good Dev and he can make a good game but if someone of his team doesnt start talking to him i fear this dude is gonna lose it. And i dont mean all his patreons i mean he loses the passion of making games as from his point of view those ppl who are leaving are ungrateful.

Milking money? Do you think making money on something is bad or what? Do you expect that people should work for free on adult games? I don't see your point.

And why the hell you demand me to change the whole game? For what? What the point of that? And what the difference with making new game?

Who said that I'm throwing anything at all? We are taking risk as team to make something better that we did before, thats it.

He just wanna make some money guys. It is only his choice how it will be either by force (pay2play) or by free will of patrons. To be honest i think it is not a good time for forcing players to pay for playing his game, he just changed gender of his MC and there is no confidence that people will love the new game and p2p system just making it worse.

I don't think I'll be following this game. BB was fun if you could deal with the grind, or alleviate it with cheats, but this one requires too much of a sense of disbelief to get into.
I can deal with the low content and missing functionality, as this is a version 0.1 concept demo.
I can deal with the always online requirement, despite my currently spotty internet, though if the free content is more then a month behind the paid, it'll quickly become a deal-breaker.
What I can't deal with is the Contract, and the utter stupidity of those involved with it. I can't believe that anyone, even our shy, sheltered, naive MC Kate, could be dumb enough to sign it. I can't believe that worldly older sister Julia missed the warning banners (with accompanying marching band singing 'protect your sister and GTFO') and let Kate sign. And I can't believe that the Principal thinks it is in any way legally enforceable.

Imagine what would happen if a rule like 'Student nudity is now mandatory', with the punishment of 'losing one point from a student's grades per article of clothing they are caught wearing', was voted in and got tweeted about on social media. Anti-nudism groups would descend in droves, naturist groups would likely join in (as most of them are about choosing to bare all rather then being forced into it), sexual harassment charges would likely be laid, students picked up for indecent exposure... Can't see the 'experimental college' surviving the storm. And that's for something 'relatively' tame compared to what the faculty could ask for.

Cause apparently there are enough ppl who cant put this and that together and still believe they get alot of content in the 0.2 build which we all know is not going to happen. He just will bring up another excuse why it takes so long and milk it some more.

Look at DarkCookie from SummerTime Saga as example. He also delayed his next Update for a long time now and explains it by telling everyone they need to make a patch for patreon and also are busy with the teacher update and that they underestimated the amount of work in it.

Yet he still answers the same questions over and over again in his stream. Still posts on discord about the updates still let ppl know on patreon whats happening and so on and so forth while still showing the progress the game not just the background makes.

I think DS does all that simply by milking the next game before either putting that as hold as well or going back to BB on another website.

Yeah, he's a great artist but from his update, you wouldn't know he's actually trying to create a game!
Just a bunch of great beautiful background images.

And the fact that the preview images were all Julia (and even the Patreon tier images) and suddenly it's Kate that's the main character suggests none of this is really thought through.

He jumped at the chance to stop making BB but then he didn't actually have anything else in place to justify earning all that Patreon money so he's just milking it now while he can.
