I fully disagree with you, if I wanted porn I'd just watch porn, game is the most important part of a porn game. Then again I wouldn't call H5 a porn game, it is an adult game, the porn is secondary.
In my opinion if you removed all porn elements you'd still have an interesting game, if you're into solving mysteries, and that's not the case of most games in here.
I fully agree with you. The games I enjoy most are the "story-first" games. There are a number of projects I'm considering where it almost feels tertiary--the plot could easily work without the sex.

Aye, just a word. I meant Porn is the most important part of porn games. I didn't mean it was the only important one.
Just like you, if I only wanted porn, I would just watch porn. What I meant is, if there isn't porn, it isn't a porn game. That's all.

Still, there is nothing to disagree at all here. I just have my tastes, everyone has his or hers and there is actually nothing to argue about that. We can only state them or not (provided it's done respectfully ofc).

In this game; as the story is starting, it feels only natural that there would be little sex yet within the main Routes. That doesn't mean a sexually active adult, won't have any One Night affairs, or quickies, or whatever. Yes, it's additionnal work, so it might not be a good idea in terms of development length. But in terms of development logic, it sure would help players to wait less agitatedly.

It is hard to find games that cater to my kink that do not include things that turn me off, so to be perfectly honest, most of the games I play here are either for testing, or story.

Many games here that I have played, I just skip through the sex to get to the story because it bores me.

I must say it's refreshing to see someone who understand that we all have our own tastes and doesn't try to shove their tastes in everyones face. On the subject of one night stand and quickies they are actually there in the game on some routes, namely Annie and Trisha. I don't really see any other girls for which it could work as it stands given their personalities.

Let's not pretend that F95 is something that it's not. It's a pirate site for pornographic/hentai games.
This isn't a site that attracts aspiring/upcoming novelists.
1) No one even insinuated that this wasn't a pirate site for pornographic/hentai games. I don't see how this relates to his comment at all.
2) You don't have to be an aspiring novelist to enjoy a good story.
3) Novels aren't the only medium for well written fiction. There's plenty of game developers (and aspiring game developers) on here that want to write a great story for their erotic VN/video game.

If this site were here only for porn, there would not be a tag for [No Sexual Content].
H5 was always an adult oriented game, that has some sex in it (if you choose it).

I'm not saying that no one here doesn't enjoy a good story, I already stated that for me MGQ holds the mantle for best story in a hentai game. What I'm saying is that F95 is not the place to be if story telling is what a developer cares about most. i.e HeavyFive is not of the same story quality as The Last of Us.

So if Notty wants to be a writer of that caliber, then this is not the place, nor the audience to do that. In all honesty, if that's what she wants/values in her work then her best strategy would be to forgo pornographic material in its entirety because it would never make it in the mainstream, and no reputable company would hire a writer who can only source pornographic material as their work.

The thing is, I would hesitate to call many of the AVNs here "porn games." At least the ones I've enjoyed.

Since they are called Adult Visual Novels, I consider them to be VNs with adult themes. That usually means some level of erotic or sexual content, but there's a lot more to an adult novel than sex.

You're mistaking presentation for story telling, and even worse, mistaking story telling for "wanting to become a writer recognized by the mainstream/society at large".
And worst of all, all of this in defense of the statement "no one browses F95 for the plot". Which people are (hi). Just take the L, and I dunno, call all of us uncivilized uncultured idiots who think video game writing is good, or porn video game writing is good, or something, it's getting embarrassing even third-hand.

I see your point. Actually, I'd call this one a Story Oriented Point'n'click Porn Game, to be precise.

I can relate to that as many AVN/Porn/Erotic games tend to have terrible stories or stories that start well, but turn out short on any other aspects than sex in the end, which cannot compete with actual porn in terms of motion. And ofc there is the Grind+Repeat etc, which becomes rapidly boring in most of them.

I'd say the story on this one starts very well for me. It just lacks kinks for now. But it's not based on Grind, which tells a lot.

If it's refreshing, it's a bit sad. Because there are already many reasons to be angry at life everywhere, nowadays. Adding even more isn't helping. I do understand the exasperation that sometimes bursts in everyone though. It's easy to slip into the Grumpy Zone.

I would have guessed Sarah and Trisha. but I'm biaised as Annie is to me the most interesting of the ship's crew. So I'd go for the love interest route with her. But yes, there is the "reasoning" option with her, you're right.

Well,
It seems a bit early to evaluate Notty's talent. It's a WiP, after all.

As for authors of "that caliber" who go for mainstream and not porn, Mmmmh... Oscar Wilde ? Guillaume Appolinaire ? Le Marquis de Sade ? Anaïs Nin ? Do those names ring a bell ? Go read their porn. Many, many talented authors used to write porn under an alias. Some for the thrill of it. Others because before they could live from their litterature, they had to feed, and porn is a quick and easy way to do so.

As for "strategies"... It's an argument that seem rational but why not let her try it her way and see what happens ? Who knows ? It might lead to something, eventually.

Fair points you made there.

Anne Rice's "Sleeping Beauty" series under the pseudonym A. N. Roquelaure would be a great example of an author who wrote BDSM erotica under a different name.
