Hello!
I think you're confused, first of all because I would never have said "I want to make my own DxD". I'm not familiar with it.

And second; I had multiple tiers even before Hero's Harem Guild, with a game that I used for practice called Homework Sisters.
I never had only 1$ donation.

And please, send me your discord username so I can see the chat myself, I answer to most people.
On just about every game I follow, if the the people with the longest manifestos get called out by the Devs - a majority of what they "remember" or claim never happened. Makes me wonder what their agenda is other than mental masturbation.

I mean you could just upload what you have finished? Even if its not done? Like every other porn game on this site being funded by patreon?

In the midst of writing that would just be a complete mess and probably not work at all, if it isn't programmed to be publishable at a certain time, it just cannot be put out.

it makes no sense, optics wise, to bend over backwards just because of the abandoned tag. an incomplete update is far more visible, and affecting, to the dev's monetary supporters than forcing through an update just to revert the tag.

we don't need a repeat of the Cyberpunk 2077 launch fiasco. I'd rather a polished but slow dev cycle than the opposite.

Personally I do think I want a Cyberpunkt 2077. In its 2024 patched state.

Well when you think this forum can't get any worse, this game gets the abandoned tag despite the fact that the dev comments on here frequently as has stated many times that it is still working on the game.

why? this rule is simple no game update in 18months = abandoned tag.
Like what are u trying to tell here? They introduced this tag only to mess with this game?

Nope that is not the rule. The rule is that games only get the abandoned tag if the dev doesn't share any new information about the development for over 3 months. Komisari is one of the most active devs on this forum so that alone should be reason enough for this game to not get the abandoned tag.

It is 3months for dev and 18monts for the game, this is not the first game to be tagged abandoned cuz of 18monts rule.

Then don't be freaking out over the abandoned tag? The whole point of patreon funding is short frequent updates, we're basically the beta testers for the final build. Trying to make the whole ass game in one go with patreon funding is naturally gonna rub people the wrong way and it isn't really surprising it got slapped with the abandoned tag.

It seems to be since this indeed isn't the first time. However, the 3 months rule is included in the official ruleset on this page available for everybody to check, whereas the 18 month rule isn't.

I'm unsure where in my previous post did you extract any "freaking out", or objections to the abandoned tag being applied. That post was made to counter your position about releasing an update early to get rid of the abandoned tag ASAP. If anything, that part of your reply should be directed to the person I was replying to, which, strangely, is yourself.

Whatever your stance on Pateron and update speed versus quality is irreverent to this discussion because the time spent waiting can never be recouped unless someone on F95 happen to have a time machine laying around. The only correct play forward is to ensure the coming (or alleged coming, hopefully the former but you never know) update is as perfect as physically possible. Even a flawless update will never recoup the lost goodwill, and I certainly don't blame people for losing interest, but it can at least cement a quality-oriented reputation for the dev. Abandoning that position midway will only result in a delayed and unsatisfying update, the worst of both worlds.

Actually no - the whole point of Patreon funding is that artists (it wasn't made with adult games in mind) can follow their art without having the pressure of actually needing to achieve something commercially viable. People can support this just for the sake of arts. Thus the name - a "patron of the arts" doesn't get anything back. Read their mission statement.

Of course, short frequent updates may be more practical (Komisari himself said so that he completely overdid it) and more enticing to the average guy to sink a few dollars, since they're seeing results, but that is not what Patreon is about.
