If you go back one page there is a quote of a later post from a friend of inkalicious' using ink's account with more up to date info.

I think we're all holding onto hope and whatnot. If he doesn't come back, no worries. There's a certain evil asshole (me) waiting to jump at the chance of finishing it for him. Would be nice to have his script/novel, though. I still prefer him to finish it on his own. LolI’ve read it. A good friend updating his state of health.

I would prefer that he finish it himself as well but I acknowledge that may never happen. Good luck with your efforts because the expectations are extremely high with it and probably contributed to his condition.
You could try contacting Ink but who knows if he would respond.

but Ink has always been open to the possibility of others taking over to complete the work in his last posts, once it was clear he couldn't dedicate himself to it anymore iirc

He'll always have my help if he's willing to have me. It's been a long while since I've played this game but I still have love for it. Problem is, I don't have the assets or the finished scripts. Well, that plus I need to wait until September so I can fix up my PC and re-download HS.

It is a real shame. This has been one of the best games on this site. I was very disappointed when Ink stated that he was stepping away from it. This game is in my top ten.

One of the few games that I am actually upset it did not get finished..
Not really The assisstant was taken by a better developer and it was insanely better then the original lol. I'd say the art style would be the most important thing.It is a real shame. Yes. Me. But Ink is coming back, last I heard. So there's no reason for me to step in. IF he decides to not do this, at the very least, I want his story script so I can help him continue it. And if it's in my hands... I would more than likely add galleries and whatnot. Keep things a bit fun. No sandbox. After making it for my game, I ended up despising it. Haha. I don't mind playing it but making them is kind of a bitch. Like going in all directions. No, I'll make the game the way Ink intended with some good ol' Manny's touch.

On the contrary to the resurgence discussion about Ink and supposed fan continuations, I truly believe this game is dead, done and dusted. The least I can do is offer the CG so hopefully everyone can enjoy all of Ink's creations without the need to play the game.
If there is a particular render/scene that you really like and want as a wallpaper, now you can. These are JPG/PNG images that you can have fun watching, similar to the screenshots on the front page... very convenient.
