Everything Moskys said about James is in there in the story. He didn't make any of that up. But it's written for the first group. I didn't bother trying to make it clear, because the audience I was trying to serve doesn't really read the text anyway. But I did think it through enough to make it work in my head, even if you have to be completely on my wavelength to get it.
I guess I just forgot some crucial details then since it was more than a year ago since I played. I might have a more complete picture of the story once I refresh my memory. However, there's one very interesting parallel that Moskys brought up that made me wonder. He said that James' path in LCfK is not so different from the narrative structure in Saving Chloe. But for some reason, I remember most details in Saving Chloe without having to replay it, even though it was a much bigger game because I was absorbed by the story and characters, And ironically I found the sex hotter as well, even though it was made with a narrative focus in mind opposed to the smut material in James' horndog path. Something made me care for Paul and his story, but I was barely paying attention while playing James' POV and couldn't properly connect with him no matter how hard I tried. Is it really a simple subjective preference caused by my preference of the Elsaverse characters, or was there actually a difference in the presentation that made SC work where LCfK James path didn't?

Even excluding the fact that SC was the final chapter of the series and we all were quite focused on it, in SC there was a real narrative behind all those paths, they were actual paths leading to getting a girl. And as you said in the other message, the fact that our choices led to a happy ending with that girl (or at least a coherent ending within the overall story) helps a lot. Playing as James we only need to pass on several sexual encounters, fast forward the voyeur scenes and get our Keeley back, or alternatively enjoy a series of unrelated, meaningless sex scenes from an unlikeable character with a meh ending to the story. So they aren't that memorable.

I do recall James getting all possessive and demanding and threatening Claryce who shoulda kneecapped his ass, but didn't.
Just to be clear, that scene plays out completely differently in the Claryce Friend path than the Claryce Lover one. In the friend path, we see repentant James, not entitled James, and they're basically different people.

I think it's pretty cool that you folks think that sex scenes with characters you care about are better than ones with random people. It just goes to show that I've made the right choice by going back to writing games for people like you rather than trying to chase the general porn crowd. Personally, I care more about the emotions leading up to the sex scene that the actual scene itself.

That said, the "Claryce snorkeling" scene is hot. But I'm biased... :)

I don't mind occasional hook-up with strangers in games, but there has to be great chemistry between the characters, not a forced interaction that simply leads to sex where you don't have any investment in their interaction. I think a good example of this is, again, Chloe in RfJ. While she's not a stranger for those who played DwE, Marc as well as new players who skipped the first game, don't have any bias against Chloe, but her personality and charisma are so captivating that make her very hard to resist. I wouldn't be surprised if many players got the bad ending in RfJ before getting the true ending.

And while the coroner (Rieke?) in Darkness Falls is not a stranger, but she might as well be because she didn't talk with the protagonist before their unexpected meeting one rainy night. I think her scene is written so well that even if she was a stranger, it would still be very hot.

So, I'd say for me it's really a case by case. But since neither of these 2 characters is written as a proper stranger (either the player or the MC has some history with them), maybe you're just better at writing sexual scenarios with characters who mean something to the narrative because you're more invested yourself into writing them and making their interactions interesting?

I can obviously only speak to the routes I've played, which in the case of most games with multiple routes, is until I find an ending that feels like the "correct" ending to me personally. Some games have multiple of those. GGGB was one, having to choose between three good ending choices (I did play all the routes there, most of them did not feel as logical to me as the endings with Eva, Jessica or Jasmine, but they all were interesting enough to play and this isn't a GGGB discussion, just an example). But this game had only one that just ended perfectly for my enjoyment. So in the case of this one, I can only speak to Claryce lover route, which to me personally just clicked right off the bat. (also for the record I dont only think F/F endings work best. just when done well they are usually superior)

James seem to kind of exists in a quasi Schrodinger's cat universe where he is simultaneously redeemable and unredeemable depending on if you open the box labeled James.

So while I'm sure the James redemption path worked and clicked for some, it wasnt for me. Glad some enjoyed it. But having been in Claryce's shoes before myself helping friends deal with a similar situations, personally James can fall off a really high bridge. because its very very rare for someone to make that mistake and learn their lesson and even if they do it rarely rarely works out with the person they cheated on. just too much baggage and trust issues and even if the person never screws up again, the lingering trust issues can cause a whole new set of problems.

However unless there is a route where Claryce is portrayed as a some manipulative bitch, then she is pretty solidly amazing through the whole thing, caring about Keeley before herself, putting her healing and happiness first, she deserves to have her happily ever after with Keeley. No matter how much he tries, Keeley can never fully trust James again and that will long term poison their marriage/relationship. lead to more resentment and hurt, and the next time James feels the "pressure" getting to him, hes gonna slip and fall into some other woman who just happened to be naked around him.

His redemption is not with Keeley, it comes when he learns from his mistakes and in his NEXT relationship he doesnt make them again and becomes that persons' Claryce.

Fear not. Claryce's portrayal is consistent in all paths. And even when she chooses to be Keeley's friend, she gets a happily ever after. Keeley's name is on the title, but Claryce is the character I cared the most about.

Iam not a guy for the short ones... i like slowburns, and a build up in VNs.

But i liked this one here... its not a game just for porn. The DEVs have a story to tell about a broken merriage and what this thing can do with the people... not very complex, but short and easy to relate too.

There are some flaws, but nothing is perfect.

I only played the part with james. Its not really my cup of tea to play female protagonists... i learned that i just cant relate to them in any way, no matter how good the writing is. (i read many books too where the main protagonist is female, always had problems with that, cant really tell why)

So playing a guy who has cheated on his wife was a little bit strange... i hate cheater, very much. Would never do it to my love.

I liked the short "random" encounter with the girls and how turning them down makes it very clear how remorseful James can be, and how much he regreted to hurt his wife. Though it was kinda odd that every girl in the game wanted to have sex in a instant with james... of course i looked the scenes up, but played the game through to get back keeley.

The sex-scenes are decent, animatiosn are not that good, would have been better without i would say.

the overall renders are top, yeah there are many complains about the "hairy" part, and i have to say, i dont like that either... but besides its a question of "taste" i have to say, the pubichair looks really strange in the game. Dont know.... not well made, and strange too cause the renders overall are top notch, but the pubic hair is really strange and gross. Not a big thing, but i mention it cause most of the girls have it in this game.

I looked up the other games of tora productions, but they didnt catch me...

Maybe the two of you could do a larger game in the future, with bigger story to tell, but maybe youre not made for this, cause you dont want to write and work on the same game for many years. But i think you could actually pull off something great, cause your story-writing is really good i think.

Thank you, Hahn.

If you want a slow burn, you should try out Dreaming With Elsa in the Omnibus. https://f95zone.to/threads/elsaverse-omnibus-vol-1-tora-productions.90315/

DwE has the longest sexual ramp of any of my games.

There are multiple ways to do longer games.
1) Release Episodes for years on end.
2) Release full games told in the same universe that fit together into an overarching story for years on end.

We did the second. The omnibus has the first 5 games, as well as 9 short stories and a novella, all that build on each other.

From:

"Sister" released
This is the third short story in the "Tara the writer" series. (Tara Tales? The Chronicles of Tara? Help me out here.) Temper your expectations, it's not a game, or even a visual novel. It's a text short story written by me with a relatively small number of images created by Mortze.
The previous installments were
Rain God:
Westbank:
And now, Sister:
As with Westbank, I wrote this because I was inspired by a weekly image Mortze did. And, as with Westbank, I had to write a bunch of versions of this until I got what I wanted. But I'm really happy with it.
As well as my English, we have translations to Spanish, French, and German by Moskys, Marco, and AbyssalEros.
I'm releasing this to higher tier patrons now and will release it to the public in about a day.
I hope you enjoy it!

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

While we don't have anything with these characters in the works at the moment, there was a prequel to this:
https://f95zone.to/threads/coming-to-grips-with-christine-ep-1-5-tora-productions.10110/

And we have a large number of other games in a different universe. A good place to start for them is the Omnibus:
https://f95zone.to/threads/elsaverse-omnibus-vol-1-tora-productions.90315/

Finally, our current project is Toro 7:

Hey guys,

I've decided to launch this game at ITCH.IO, for 6$99.
If anyone feels like this game deserves to be paid for feel free to drop by
We will appreciate it immensely.

You can also comment about it over there and give your feedback. That would help a lot.
