RPGM Abandoned Lily of the Valley [v2.0] [P and P]

P #1 is the writer - He is very good at it!
P #2 is the artist and coder - also very good!

There is also:
V - is the translator - he translates from ???? to English - I am not sure what languages they write in but I can guess... It's likely Bosnian or Serbian or there abouts, could be Croatian, or Slovenian too... not sure...

There used to be another translator:
K - but she left the team more than a year ago or so - she translated everything up to v0.92 or v1.0 I think.

P #1 should get the credit for the writing, but V has done a very good job finding the right tone and words in English to make the story and dialog pop as intended.

Most conversations are hilariously funny and really clever. You can tell that P #1 is no amateur writer, but probably writes professionally in real life in some company somewhere . You can also tell that P and P have quite a bit of experience of this sort of things because of the way the plan out the over all story and stick to it. P #2 probably works IT somewhere - no amateur either.

Despite my best attempts trying to persuade them to insert some requested scenes here and there they have resisted (so far) and are stubbornly sticking to their original plan They have proven to be impervious to flattery, threats, bribery, etc

The writing is indeed very good. Its coherent, humorous , the characters are very realistic. Most importantly main character is not an airhead (which is common in those games) and characters do not act vastly different between different player choices.

Now i'm trying Fred path and lol this is not what i expected. Tho i think Lily is acting a bit of out of character. I think authors know this as well that is why they added the supernatural factor of hypnosis.

Nah I did not ask for anything extreme like dogs or so. Just more of the same that they are already doing. They had already told me they have a script and that they are not going to deviate from that, so I though the only they could possible agree to would be more variations to what they are already doing with Fred, Nick, Library boy Jack, John etc. Dogs is a hell no, never if I correctly remember P and P's response to someone's request from a long while back.

But, as I said, they have stubbornly been sticking to their plan
And honestly, joke aside, that's a good thing. They shouldn't let people like me influence them, risking to derail the whole project . It so easy for someone like me (and the rest of us) to have opinions about what they are doing without having the overview or insights into what they're trying to do. So my stuff would probably just have messed them up painting them into a corner or worse...

About the language, you could be right about being form a former Yugoslavian country, because some word are very close to Russian.

Yeah and since they live in a Orthodox Christian country, they celebrate Christmas now I think (Christmas day January 7th).

It's good but to a point. They are not selling ready product but rather they seek continuous support for work in progress. People will be more likely to support to get what they want. Maybe they don't need to change the script but for example rather then having a simple 1 render scene, make it multi stage if people desire so.

Yeah that's how crowed sourcing work (Patreon is basically crowed sourcing). You support and the creator and the creator creates. What the creator creates and shares with the Patrons, some how, has to be valuable enough for the patrons to continue to fund the creator. I think P and P are worth supporting because they do good stuff and I can live with the down sides (I mean I have a life so...)

And No the script is a tightly kept secret - i think only P and P knows... And plans is something they just feed you bit by bit so they do not spoil the story.

One thing though, in their latest post they mentioned that:

"In 2020 we will launch something very special, something we've been secretly working on and preparing for a long time now."
Now that is intriguing...

Any guesses what it might be?

I think that P&P's content (and the rest of the team e.g. A B C)I would happily support. There content are great, like OMfuckingG great.
(Only downside are the long wait, but there game/content are very good)
What I wonder is, how many updates can we expect before an end in Lily's story? I Just love the game so much and it would be a tearful moment when it is completed. But I think that is many updates away with now the help from Fred and we have only just begun working for castor etc. Even though my fave char is Fred (except for Lily of course) I want to see a bit more of the other characters now, it is a long time since we last saw them. (and a bit longer updates aswell)

I don't have a clue on what the next "special" thing could be. But I really don't hope it is a new game because then I think it would just take even long with each update to Lily.

Humbling Experience is one of those games i really miss. It also had a really funny story/dialog but sadly the dev. got interrupted by real work (his day job boss "forced" him to do actual real work for his salary). How rude! Right?

Anyway, I gave P and P some "feedback" too and I might have been a bit, shall we call it, pissed and less diplomatic when I wrote it so I'm not sure how well it was received...

Basically, I thought they wasted several opportunities to bring the story to the next level after the the Tavern and Nick's dream events (because these 2 scenes were great on their own and as a set up for the next phase!)... but the scenes that came after all fell flat given the potential they had (considering how well they were set up). They could have been EPIC now they were just average. I'm still pissed about that.

I see you put Anna ahead of Lily. So did you know that DeepSleep was inspired by LotV and that is why he decided to make his own game like that (he was also tired of waiting for LotV updates )
I love Anna too especially since the images are higher res and he releases much more frequently, but sometimes I think LotV is sort of richer/deeper in the story - if that make sense.
