Just note - MBFD has public release. Same content but less bug.
The last public is version 4.14, where 4. means Episode 4 and 14 is the version/number of bug-fixed versions of episode. Here is no reason for pirate version (except the time).
Note: I know all about the public releases and etc., and I totally agree that support is (or should be) based on the project/dev and not the release schedule per se. Just posing an open question based on my not at all reliable or comprehensive study of other Patreon tiers.

Something about how CLVG has responded in the past to pirate releases and claims of how it damages his income and all that, big turn off personally. I am in no way suggesting CLVG is in the wrong in that assessment, or any other regard - they would know better than anyone what the upper tier supporters want and expect and how they do (or don't) react to the pirate releases.

I'm just having a hard time imagining someone pledging $50 per month ($600 per year!!) saying to themselves "WTF?!!! Someone released the game early?!! That's it Bob, I'm outraged and I'm out!" and then cancels or reduces their pledge. It's just not a scenario I can wrap my head around, so the protestations seem disingenuous.

Let me be clear: I am not suggesting this doesn't happen or that anyone owes me an explanation and I'm not asking for a rationalization for the tier/rewards structure or anything like that.

Only yourself know how much the game means to you.

I was playing "Room for Rent" for basically most the time totally free.
Mainly because i though going for a 1$ Donation would not make any different.

Today i think different, when only 1 out of 10 people who are playing this game would do this 1$ donation thing, it CAN make a significant difference by mass.
It just took me some time to realize the obvious.

So time is really not the factor for me here, it is the rare opportunity to ensure this game that i learned to love can keep going.

I really do love this and Room for Rent. Maybe RFR had two or three too many characters so they kind of ended up under developed and then nothing more than a task to complete instead of a relationship to get invested in. The scale and scope of MBFD is probably better and making it easier to connect to the girls as individuals. (It's a porn game, so it only goes so far of course).

The question for Ce La Vie Group, then, is would tightening those release schedules incentivize enough new lower tier members to offset the losses of perhaps a $50 or $20 member downgrading their tier?
I think you misunderstand what is happening. The $50 tier people are essentially alpha and beta testers who play from Patron releases knowing that there are bugs, major and minor, that need to be worked out. They are are a whole different breed of players who are very important to the public release of a completed update. Based on the release schedule it was someone in that tier who leaked, unfortunately, an incomplete version. It's possible it was someone who hacked into Celaviegroup patron page and doesn't even support the game, heaven forbid. I have my doubts that many if any will jump ship over someone releasing an update earlier from any tier. Celaviegroup has already stated how they handle those patrons. They usually only do it once, two at the most. That keeps the patrons happy.

Edit: I would not be surprised if other DEV's handle it the same way but are not as vocal and open about it as Celaviegroup

Very well put, these were exactly the main reasons i canceled my 5 bucks support for RFR. I was indeed constantly playing leaked versions way before my tier release date was due but that wasnt the problem at all... the problem was i didnt feel my 5 bucks support was appreciated at all.

You know, there are content creators on patreon (not talking just adult gaming, but in general) that rely on small supporters - they offer high value to low tier supporters and thus get 3-4k supporters of the $3-$5 tiers. Others have different strategy - they rely on their whale supporters - they offer very little to lower tier supporters and rely on having like 200-300 supporters of $50-$100 tiers. Both strategies end up mostly equal income-wise, however being a low tier supporter in case.2 is kinda pointless. Thats exactly how i felt with CLVG

Just so you know when I could afford to support a dev or dev's it was always at the $1 or $5 level because I appreciated the work and quality of the games and never cared about whether I was appreciated because I was based on that hard work and quality. Now being on a fixed income my support comes in the form of playing the public release and trying to help other players when they are stuck.

Imo it depends on the budget someone has. If I like a game very much, I am able to support with 1$, rarely up to 10$. I see it just as a positiv signal. Never felt not appreciated, it is just the opposite. ... (every $ counts ;) )

Thanks for your inputs. They are valuable for me. I'm constantly trying to improve the game and my support so any input's like yours are very welcome. I'm one guy only - making a release every month with very high number of high resolution images and fairly long story in each update. As I'm only one guy - I need to make my priorities and I have to agree that I don't have enough focus on my USD 5 supporters. That's why I now have a Discord channel where the attention is significant higher. My alpha team is running the Discord channel so I have time to create next episode.
I'll never be able to support 3 or 4k supporters anyhow so I guess that my solution is the best - at least at this point.
As mentioned before - I must admit that I'm trying to protect my work and I guess that almost all other dev's do the same. In fact I have nothing against that someone that can't afford to support me are playing my game - but I need to protect my work as this is my only income. I guess that everyone will do that independent of which job you have.
As mentioned many times before - I make the game public 1 month after first release (approx.) so anyone that can't afford or wish to support me - can play my games. In my opinion - this is a fair deal and no one is forced to support me. My games have been downloaded many millions of times from various sites. I have around 300 supporters from USD 1 to USD 200, so it's really few that support me compared to numbers of players. I doubt that this number will change significant if I change the Tier strategy but I can be wrong.

I strongly agree with the sentiment that devs deserve support as they sink incredible amount of time and effort into making these games. In addition creativity is another major factor to observe. I like buying games (own well over 500 titles) and I rarely buy/support unfinished content because they often become abandoned. It is silly to compare devs here with the AAA devs as mainstream sits on billions of dollars devs here have to pay their bills as they make the game without major publisher backing them up.

Question 1. If I love this game why am I not supporting it on Patreon?
Answer 1. Mainly because game is not finished and because the dev completely ruined the previous game for me so I fear that it might happen again. I am still considering coming on board as a low tier support just because what I said in the opening paragraph, but I will have to see at least episode 6 (maybe even 7 <-- half of the game?). I am really nervous that the game could derail especially when the dev said in one of his posts that "nothing is what it seems like with CLVG games". Reasons for support are dev deserves monetary support for the work he puts into the game, premise/story of the game are great (for now) even tho game is hard to play (WT helps a lot) girls are beautiful, outfits are amazing... but the constant fear that the whole game will crush and burn is always lingering (read Q2). Less important for nonsupport is the fact that I like other girls more than Julia because of her balloon tits and huge nipple/areolas meh. She is beautiful and hot just please never take the bra off lol. All things considered I will most likely support this game (I don't care about supporter bells and whistles) I just hope to see more A cup blondes added to the game. Or redheads mmmmmmmmmm with freckles (double mmmmmmmmmmm) :)

Question 2. Well how about RfR? Why not support that one? It is finished and I loved it (to a point)
Answer 2. RfR was one of my all time fav VN's up until one confession in the game KILLED the whole game for me instantly and forever! Literally anything else but what actually happened in game would make the game still playable for me. RfR is not supported out of shear spite :( sorry. The game has 0 replay value for me. All those beautiful girls and amazing perv situations insane amount of creative work all of it crushed and burned in an instant. I even went as far as UnRen to change the dialogue in that scene and replayed the day immediately hoping it will fix it and nope it just did not work out. Literally 2 sentences fucked up the entire game for me. So MBFD is technically the first game this dev is making in the parallel universe I live in. Since I always give the second chance hopes for MBFD are still there (fingers crossed).

Everyone has their likes and dislikes and it is ridiculous to debate tastes. I follow about 5 games on this forum and I ignore the rest. Here and there an amazing preview pops up on the Latest Updates page and I go yay, click on it and the shit is censored or worse. I am yet to support any games posted on F95 as none ticked all of the boxes on my list. MBFD might be the first one, also might be the only one... time will tell

Out of the respect for devs and the work done I don't want to put spoilers here regardless of the fact that I utterly hate the direction the game took. Those who did not play RfR should go play it and find out (and support the game). If you played the game (without skipping) and payed attention to the story you know very well what I am speaking of as a clue I gave is two words short of a full spoiler disclosure. Clue was Amy's confession to the MC, followed by all the girls are..., anyway it is in the past, can't be fixed, looking forward to the future of the MBFD development

I will have to go back and look at it again. It has been so long ago that I forgot most of it, but that isn't unusual for me any way.

Thank you very much for playing my games. I respect you for reading/following the story - thank you. MBFD and RfR are both been written from the end and backwards. I can tell you that it has been funny to read all the comments about naïve girls etc. I have tried to make a real story - not just some crazy bullshit. Whether I have succeeded or not I don’t know but at least I give it a try. By the way - I make girls that I like and I dpend a huge amount of time in this creative work. That is the reason why my girls doesn’t look similar to girls in other games. In epidode 5 - you’ll see a redhair girl. Some of them have freckles too.
You can play MBFD - don’t worry. The plot will not be known before the very end of this game - so you can just stop at that time :)

I think this game definitely needs kind of a progess board like for exampe "Power Vacuum" has it. Without it, it is just a matter of luck whether you are stuck again and again like I am again right now (55 / 66 Episode 5) and need hours of trial and error or you suddenly go on again.
The fly concept just is not plausible at all and breaks any possible immersion. What does happen there? Is the MC a micro drone constructor? Is he a Druid and has a magical connection to flies, that make him look through their eyes? The concept just has no reason within the story. But you cannot ignore it, because it delivers necessary events to progress. I think an improving stealth ability of the MC would be a believable alternative. Of course some very close up scenes would make no sense then, but most of the scenes would work, I guess.
Except these rather "improvable" elements the game has of course an extraordinarily lovely character design and beautiful graphics!

Celaviegroup has already stated that the ep 5 here on F95 is a very early "leaked" version that is not playable to the end. I think the completed and clean version will be released on Apr 5 or later (not sure about the date though). I am currently stuck at 63/66 and have stopped there until it is released publicly and then go back through it. This is not the only game that suffers the same early unfinished uploaded update. That can inn itself KILL a game and discourage dev's from continue working on them. THAT IS VERY UNFORTUNATE because we here miss out on some very good games that way. BTW I play games based mainly on the story and great images but enjoy those with incest, petite, athletic, smaller (B to mid C cup) breasts but will play any game with a good story and above average images. I will play some games with fetishes I don;t like if they meet my above mentioned criteria.

Thanks! I though I would manage to reach an event count of at least 60 before the problem occurs and obviously it is possible to do so. But maybe I can wait until a clean version is published. At least I got to 59 meanwhile. But obviously 63 are possible. ;)
Nevertheless a board that shows progress information at least like for example "Julia shower 2/4, Ida sunbathing 3/5, Maria swimming 1/3" would be extremely helpful.

Update: Reached event count of 60 - I guess I can live with that.
