Under settings, bottom right corner of the top left box, there is one that say 'UI animations', uncheck that, it might speed you up.

Is anyone having an issue where any and all events are only showing up as a grey smokey background? My saves from 2.2.9 works but any new events or trying to watch old ones just shows a blank screen of grey smoke.

That means the art is not loading, try extracting it to a new folder and copying your profile to the new one.

If you only get mist, then you might have all of them.

No there are certain times to look for them but try exploring the manor and you will get Amber
