Meantime i'm ngl, that subplot kinda ended up feeling like nothingburger. Grace tries to blackmail Victoria, who gets drunk out of her ass and then learns that Edwin actually knew about her past all along and is totally okay with it so she freaked out over nothing, group hug. Makes Grace look more like a clown who ended up doing Vicky and Edwin a favor. It's wild how Pale Carnations stirs up the darkest, most twisted urges in the player, yet still hits you with a gut-punch of raw, righteous moral fury.
Grace looks like a harmless chump now, sure, but the subplot isn't over yet. The biggest shoe is still to drop.Meantime i'm ngl, that subplot kinda ended up feeling like nothingburger. Hmm what do you mean by the biggest shoe? Whatever it is that has happened between Victoria and Chuck, or something else..?Grace looks like a harmless chump now, sure, but the subplot isn't over yet. The biggest shoe is still to drop.
Well in addition to the whole Chuck thing, depending on your choices (whether you told Ian to be introspective or not, and whether you told him her secret or lied) you can get revenge on Grace with Ian, or possibly set up a division between Edwin and Ian, or Ian spiraling.Hmm what do you mean by the biggest shoe? Ahh, okay. Thank you, I wasn't really considering those since like you note, they're largely based on the player's choices so none of that is really a guaranteed outcome.Well in addition to the whole Chuck thing, depending on your choices (whether you told Ian to be introspective or not, and whether you told him her secret or lied) you can get revenge on Grace with Ian, or possibly set up a division between Edwin and Ian, or Ian spiraling.
This anticlimactic turn, so to speak, in Grace's subplot serves, in my view, precisely to portray how her personality suffers from intense emotional detachment. She believes she can "buy" anyone and, consequently, delegate any task, no matter how immoral it may be... this is the great proof of her difficulty in understanding human relationships in general (I’m not sure if due to some issue in the character’s past), how they work, and their usefulness in fostering emotional bonds... curiously, she uses the same behavioral patterns that alienated Ian to try to understand him and transform him into a "better and responsible" person... and I believe this is the main tragedy of her as a mother.Meantime i'm ngl, that subplot kinda ended up feeling like nothingburger. (i'm not saying it's a bad development or anything; just the way it got dealt with so quickly makes it hard for me to feel anything about Grace. It'd be like getting mad for a stooge who tried to assault someone but ended up tripping over their own feet. More of a material for blooper roll than any real outrage)
Yes, whatever happened with Chuck that required an 'understanding' for them to make awkward Thanksgiving Chit-chat over the years.Hmm what do you mean by the biggest shoe? Whatever it is that has happened between Victoria and Chuck, or something else..?
1) lying to him is probably a factor, tho I had guessed MC was concerned that he would react with shock and so turn to seeing Vicky as just another slut, so change behavior to her like he did with Alice...Yes, whatever happened with Chuck that required an 'understanding' for them to make awkward Thanksgiving Chit-chat over the years.
That, and having to deal with the fallout from how this effects Killian. We've only seen the first tremors of that particular impact and it's already fairly extreme. I'm sure it can get much worse if the MC lied to an unreflective Killian's face.
I love Mina and I'm conflicted about this, but seeing her as a house girl could be pretty hotas we see with MC getting twitchy over August meeting Mina (who was actually secretly already a housegirl target, or even future budding Carnation, via her working via Elias's agency, as was hinted back in 4.3 IIRC)
Well, yeah. And it feeds right out of her kink exploration quest w/MC. Yet another case where a girl is shown to be potentially curious enough to fall into the trap more or less willingly... and we are all TOTALLY thinking abt it...I love Mina and I'm conflicted about this, but seeing her as a house girl could be pretty hot![]()
Not going to happen. Even if August doesn't protect her, she has ownership stakes in the club, stakes that Kathleen wants. She's not going to do anything to risk losing those, and I doubt Chuck cares at all.If August flinches in protecting his darling daughter AT ALL, she goes from managing the merchandise, to BEING the merchandise.
I'm not even sure August would oppose it, since he made Hana use that "uniform" on the first exhibition.Well, yeah. And it feeds right out of her kink exploration quest w/MC. Vicky clearly is pre-primed for it as well, and is only a potential Patreon incest ban away from ending up on stage with her son.
Hana, too, for sure, given how hard and fast she hopped right on MC after seeing him at work, and how she is seemingly (evolving into/discovering she is) a hardcore submissive, as we watch. Guaranteed Kath's fashion pick for her was not just what Kath said, but to get her used to being seen, even to herself, as a club commodity. If August flinches in protecting his darling daughter AT ALL, she goes from managing the merchandise, to BEING the merchandise.
Augie is a trafficker, after all, and Hana's mom has to have passed to her many of the traits which made her (in Augie's words) "a STAR".I'm not even sure August would oppose it, since he made Hana use that "uniform" on the first exhibition.
He is protective of her, but.... He would never have let her anywhere near the club, if he was 100% on keeping her off the path. He would, tho, likely not want her ony any clubmembers' dicks. Both native dad instincts, and optics on his power, should he let his own daughter fall into that fate. If he dies, tho... A lot has been made over Hana being his heiress... Might BOTH Hana's parents be fatally ill, but daddy just kept quiet abt his health? Not going to happen. Even if August doesn't protect her, she has ownership stakes in the club, stakes that Kathleen wants. She's not going to do anything to risk losing those, and I doubt Chuck cares at all.
"Old" August from about 2 years ago would not blink, "current" August, esp. if you as the player ran "middlesman", would become an epic Papa Wolf impersonation if somebody went against Hana now.I'm not even sure August would oppose it, since he made Hana use that "uniform" on the first exhibition.
Sure, but if Hana decided to whore herself at the club he probably be ok with it, if she was forced to yeah August would kill the one forcing her."Old" August from about 2 years ago would not blink, "current" August, esp. if you as the player ran "middlesman", would become an epic Papa Wolf impersonation if somebody went against Hana now.
Yeah, it doesn't make sense to me that she would become the "merchandise" when her story to this point has been about her becoming the "merchandiser," which she previously hated and was resisting, but has been embracing more as the story moves along.Sure, but if Hana decided to whore herself at the club he probably be ok with it, if she was forced to yeah August would kill the one forcing her.
Anyway not seeing it happening, kinda out of character for Hana, could see Mina doing it to satisfy her curiosity, but not Hana
