A small update: went to hospital last week and I got some heavy medication prescribed. Still adjusting to those: not sleeping well, being restless (not being able to keep a straight thought for longer than 10 minutes) and getting hot flushes every now and then but I do seem to get a little more air now. So I'm persevering :)
Check up in 5 weeks.

Hope to get something started before that ;) And I'll keep you all posted.

Hey doc how are you feeling
Thanks for asking :)
But not too well, to be honest.
The medication is causing sleeping problems and I'm more vulnerable to diseases, so at the moment I'm down with a flu for the 2nd time in this period :(

The next part felt good to write but may not be of interest to all of you, so:

I decided to blow some of my savings on a new computer and I hope that when I'm done building it, it will spark the inspiration and give me new focus to finally get some work done.

What a troll...... :ROFLMAO:
1. This game is no longer run on patreon
2. The original creator had to drop it due to patreon issues and Dr. Smith was so kind to keep working on this neat game
3. He is doing it for free in his spare time

Sometimes it is better to keep your opinion to yourself.....

Update:
Went to hospital last week and I've been diagnosed with lung fibrosis. It's incurable and progressive :( .
Best I can do is stay on the meds I've been prescribed for now and start training my lungs, build some stamina and hope for the best.
In the worst case I've got 3 to 5 years to go but if I the meds catch on and I have some more endurance, I can last some longer. Although I'm not planning to prolong things at all costs and fortunately I live in a country where I have a saying in these matters ;)

So now I'm planning to start training and try to sort out the facts I've been dealt with and pick things up again.
Where RiC will fit in this all I can't say for now, though I want to get out a new release. But when that will be ready, I honestly can't say.

Thanks for the update.
Honestly get your things sorted out first.
If and when you start working again on the game is totally up to you and I am sure everybody can well understand your reasons.
I wish you all the best and hope that you will get better!
Stay safe and thanks for all that you have already done!
Peace man.....

Research on autohemotherapy and ozone treatments. It has been reported to cure or ameliorate various diseases.
Also research about copaiba oil. Of course, healthy eating helps in everything.

Dear DrSmith,

what a terrible blow that must have been to get this diagnosis, I am so sorry.

I hope that you are living in a place, where also high-end treatments like Nintendinab or possibly lung transplantation are an affordable option. If you are not already you should consider finding a speacialist or a facility who specializes explicitly into this sort of disease. Quality of treatment is linked to the number of clinical cases treated at one place, and for rare diseases only specialized places (for example local university clinics) can offer that kind of clinical experience.

And please be careful or considerate in regards to alternative or complementary medical approaches and therapies (which don't come with any empirical proof out of a legitimate source and/or which claim to heal and help for everything or by the means of some obscure way of healing). Of course school medicine will offer only so much and one will be willing to try everything and desperate times call for desperate measures. But if push comes to shove and you really have to live on limited time (but at this point there is no reason to be pessimistic and expect that!) be vary of the temptation to waste your precious time (and money) on dead ends. The world and especially the internet is full of charlatans and well-meaning but ill-guided people who might try to influence you in order to do so.

Take your time to reconsider what is most important in your life (regardless of how long it might still go on) and focus on that. And as others have said here before - if RiC is not part of that, don't even think about it twice! You have given this community of perverts a lot (thank you for that!) and don't own anything to anyone.

Best of luck! C.

Thank you for your kind words (and in fact thank you all that have wished me all the best the last posts) :)

I'm already going to one of the dedicated hospitals for lung diseases in my country and it works closely with an academic hospital.
I'm momentarily on the standard "cure" of Prednisone and antibiotics to force the cause to a stand still.
After that I'm relying on them to find the best approach to go from there (cure is out of reach, at least for this moment) and fortunately I have good insurance and health care is at a decent to good level here.
No way I'm going to try something (alternative) from the internet by myself ;)

Also starting physiotherapy and swimming to keep me as strong as possible.

There are still some things to sort out but my girlfriend and I have decided to make the best of the time I have left (be that 3 or 20 years ;) ).
One of the things that is giving me a good time, is RiC and I want to start working on it again when my head is clear of the clutter that the news and the drugs gave me.

As always: I'll keep you posted
