So why arent you making HS avn since apparently its very quick and easy and earns a lot of money?
why complain when you could just finish the development of ripples yourself quickly?
i see a lot of talk and very little action, go ahead.
Oh look, a keyboard warrior receiving likes for his really dumb assumption based comment.

First off, I never claimed it was easy, the devs themselves did (see below quote for an example, I'm not going to sift through a bunch of threads to find them all... I have a life). 2nd, just because I haven't made a game yet doesn't mean I don't understand what's involved. I have coded other things over the years.
Developer Notes:
While working on the last update for BM I got some annoying problems with Daz, they are fixed now, but cost me some headaches and nerves, so I really needed a break from that and after the (kind of) success of Nya, I thought why not make a small game like this again, it doesn't cost as much time and I can use all the weird, naughty, crazy story ideas I get over time, but can't use for BM because they won't fit.
So this is a small side project I plan to expand after every major BM release.
I won't spend as much time on it until BM is finished, but I use code I already have (no need to re-invent the wheel) and using HS makes it possible to create new content faster, so the updates should still be big enough (maybe not as frequent tho).
To give you an example: I started working on this a week ago and there is already more content then in BM release, update 0.1.5 and update 0.1.6 combined.
Also, no matter how much you mod HS, there's no way in hell that a HS game would take 2x longer than a quality Daz based game update. You guys are just delusional.

still just talking, the challenge still stands. make a game, be fast about it and rake in the cash. put your money where your mouth is.

You're funny.

Multiple devs have admitted that HS takes very little time and effort to make large updates.

It's sad how blind fanboys can be.
You would be 100% correct if this was Waifu Academy thread, that shiti game shouldn't take a year for a 20 minutes update, but not in this case.
Jestur, Caribdis and Mutt & Jeff take about 6-7 months for 2-3 hours updates with well thought out stories and you can clearly see if you played their games, they don't usually use the default HS animations. Ripples, Eternum and Pale Carnations cuallity is way abobe most other 3d vn on the site.

The current top 15 weighted rating Renpy games on this site says it all
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
3 of them are completed for a while and from those, 2 of them I played and are great, the other older one is not much my art style taste as aren't 3 other (still in development) that are in that list so I never played them but I believe they are great, gonna try the number 8 anyway soon, for the story. Sci-fi/fantasy is my favorite genre, maybe the art style will grow on me too lol.

The 4th place unfortunately is a sandbox game or else it was in my personal taste tier S top games, will stay tier A unless they make a linear VN version of it hehe.

Number 1 is great also no doubt, just not my personal favorite story style, a bit cruel and too BDSMish for my taste but I understand why it is number 1, I still follow it and play it, also tier A for me.

Number 12 just need a bit more content and probably raises from my tier A to S games hehe

The rest coincidentally are 6 of my 7 favorite games. Including this awesome game called Ripples that is number 15 and probably would be even higher if wasn't an usually misunderstood sci-fi sub-genre (time travel) that usually is annoyingly nitpicked, most time travel stories and some of the events won't make sense, we just have to enjoy the ride those authors give us and turn those events into some fun discussions as long people restraint to flame each other just because they have different opinions about it.
In almost all the items that make a great AVN it is on par with the best, specially in terms of story/renders/animations/characters and the care and effort to make it great that the developer put in it. That is why this top games always will have my patience to be delivered updates, after all I don't want it to come faster and suffer from a drastic quality drop.

Regarding development times I don't care and I don't even want to know if it's difficult for some, easy for others...
That said, some people seem to forget a little quickly that creating this kind of game takes months, even years to produce quality work.

There is time to think and build a complex and credible universe. The writing of the characters, their bonds and relationships and everything that encompasses the narration. Ensure that there are no narrative inconsistencies, or that they are minimal. All this does not happen as quickly as some people seem to believe, despite what may have been read right or left, in a quality AVN.
And I'm not even talking about the art itself, which character should be like this or like that and for what reasons, and the controls so that our much-loved characters don't look like malformed cubes, ...

In short, I didn't want to take part in this exchange, but it seemed important to me to remember that preparing this kind of literary game is not just a few lines of code to type into a program.

That said, for those who are unhappy, remember where you are, and consider encouraging developers so that they have more means to eventually get help from teams instead of crying about development times that are too long.
Should we remember that the majority work alone or in small teams and that people have a life on the side?
Let's just be happy that development doesn't suddenly stop.

It's pretty easy to see how enthusiastic people are for a new update. I only recently found this VN and raced through it so I too am waiting. The reason we want it so bad is because the story and quality are so damn good. Ignore the whiners.

Definitely recommend this game. I was too hesitant to try it because of the art style, but the story and the worldbuilding... man I don't think any other AVNs can be as sophisticated yet still engaging as this one. A no-brainer must play imo.

I would assume there's some kind of downloads/thread interaction algorithm that is responsible.
A little less opaque, is select latest updates. on the right side of the screen you'll see a box labeled filters. The filter in category is by default set to games. Underneath that is the filter 'sorting'. By default it's set to 'most recently updated' Left click on the box with a star to sort by 'weighted' ranking.

Just my opinion but the weighted ratings aren't foolproof. For instance 1, 5 and 12 have a lot of 5 star ratings because the reviewers are biased towards more niche kinks. (#1 features cruelty and humiliation towards its LIs and is generally misogynistic, #5 appeals to furry lovers, # 12 appeals to people who want to play as a futa/trans. They won't have as many low ratings because people who don't like those things will just avoid those games. The production values are generally higher over all though for games featuring those fetishes.) #2 and #3 are some of my favorite games on the site. #9 is arguably the most popular adult game there is. Ripples is criminally underrated. Rating isn't everything I've tried 4-star games I've hated and 2-star games I've enjoyed.

If you're just looking for good games to play you might alternatively sort by thumbs up - 'likes.' Between those 2 sortings you'll find a wide variety of good games.

A weighted ranking is basically the same thing that I said, an algorithm that takes whatever weights they give to whatever rankings (thread interaction, thumbs up, etc.) and calculates the displayed ranking. I set these up on the LMS I maintain all the time to provide "featured" content.

So you did, I responded to the wrong comment. I meant to respond to whom you responded to. No offense. Cheers.

the moaning from one of the girls is annoying since it doesnt stop after seeing the scene. She is masturbating in bed at night, and then the moaning keeps going and going, even into the next scenes. how to fix this?

i have reloaded saves, and restarted the game (by closing and reopening). nothing helps.

A little bit offtopic, but could you explain to me how to get into this view?
Exactly what Pax Draconis and tanstaafl added, weighted rating seems more accurate than just simply the full rating of the game because probably takes into account the age of the game the likes and probably other variables. But yeah it is always subjective but gives a general idea of quality and feedback. I can add that I filtered the engine of the game also to only reflect Renpy games as you can see on the bottom right side of the screenshot.

I use that page to check what was updated lately leaving the sorting by date and checking a few more engines like others unity and RPGM because I play a few of those also, instead of "watch" every game I play(ed) to avoid to get filled with notifications, I reserve that only for my favorite games.
