The green options in the walkthrough are the "canon" options, you are not forced to click them. If you were, it would be a kinetic novel just with extra work.

I think the download sites sometimes change order for me but it seems to be different for people. It also may depend on your geolocation and local time (e. g. if you're in the Republic of Example and many Examples download the game at the same time and they all prefer a certain download site, servers may get clogged).
