Seems like you are the one here who really gets it of the entire bunch. These games are expensive to make and take a lot of time.
If you have a regular job, it is exhausting to make even a simple game.
Now I would like to address a few other comments on this thread.
Without even knowing anything about this game, lets clear up some misconceptions and state the OBVIOUS.
The first game from this dev. Playing Judas. Why was it abandoned? Basically it was an ancient game with terrible graphics. Why continue?
The second game. We Were Just Kids. Just look at the title.
Can you figure out why this game is a problem? This is why it is not even mentioned on his Patreon.
He would get shut down on the first day. You can NEVER be reinstated without many headaches.

It's not about kids.
Patreon doesn't bother about titles, it's about content and they are all quite a bit older than kids.
How are you going to clear up anything without playing the game and knowing what you are talking about.
What you are stating is an opinion which clears up nothing.
Seems like you are another that doesn't get it but i'm not shocked after reading your post.
The more games a dev drops and starts the less chance they have of building a player base. It doesn't matter how expensive they are to make or any other excuse anyone can think of. The simple fact of the matter is players will not trust that dev.
There are already less people backing new devs because of how many games are getting abandoned. A lot of people here have no interest in backing a dev that can't finish what they started.

I deal with around 28 developers by helping them with there games in many different ways. That does not make me an expert by any means. I am also not defending this developer in any way.
I am just trying to point out that some things that are happening with a game are not at all obvious if you are not involved in the development yourself. Not necessary this game.
I do not know what dealings you have had with Patreon or how they are also influenced by PayPal as well. PayPal looks at everything including discord. There are many things out there that are never mentioned on this site but happen all the time concerning Patreon and how they mess with developers of "adult" games.
I also have no idea what involvement you have had in direct game development. I can only go by my own direct experience and how many hours I have put in while helping to make games.
I know in the past you seem to know what you are talking about so I will not take this personally.

So It really happened huh? That's a shame, this one was way more interesting to me than the other one.
I al told people what was happening 2 years ago.. I was sub to this.. I saw the posts where he dissed his own game.. called it niche product that not enough people were ever going to sign up for. Literally his words.. that's when I new this game was over. All he's wanted was something that got a good following early and created him that little nest egg he could just mutch off of... maybe drop an update once a year lol, But he's not serious about actually making any of these games.
Found this on twitter today, apparently the game is being reworked.

WWJK was gearing up to one of my favourites, so this is just playing with my heart. Think I'll believe it when I see it.
Great character models. My jam 100%
But the flow, dialogue and story was beyond rough . Hard to get through and not really worth it. Once again,the characters are amazingly designed. Someone take these models and make another game ❤
