It's so bad if I say I've never seen 2001: A Space Odyssey?

It's the second game on which I find myself thinking about passing on the saves to my children XDNot too bad
You can't have it all
If I'm to live to see the end of the Oceanverse adventure it'll take both an "unknown" force + an upgraded HAL 9000
I'm older than you think
If you want to watch it, you should eat before some space cookies, according to the old recipes from the 60sIt's so bad if I say I've never seen 2001: A Space Odyssey?

Have your children been born yet? If not then I'm afraid they won't be compatible. 15 years from now WiAB will be on it's 7th remake and Ocean will be porting the game into Enhanced RealityView attachment 3877453

Yeah I think we're all lost. Wiab was 27(?) chapters in the old way of counting including half chapters I think, but maybe it was going to be three seasons, I can't remember. But with the new way of counting it's 54 chapters, but now Ocean seems to be doing enough renders for three chapters in a release. When it comes out of the oven, it'll be a chapter I guess. The numbers are just a false metric in my opinion anyway, the story can be divided however it needs - Ocean's always going to have some form of cliffhanger tension to lead to the new chapter.
It is planed on being shorter than SG, and has less LI's so less convoluted branching, but then the NTR side of it might add more complicated branching. So in reality, it's just going to be a while before there's any meaningful import option for choices to impact SG, and most of us will have already played enough SG without the imported data anyway.
I applaud the effort to carry across variables, but it's icing on the cake once it's all baked. I'm far more interested in playing ch4 to find out the how more immediate changes are resolved than I am worried about a slight flavouring to SG way down the road.
I'm not going to even try to count chapters by old or new methods. It's all chthonic algebra to me.
Time =/= perfection. Attention to detail and quality control are higher on the list. Visually and conceptually Ocean is doing great, but his revisionism/redactions are quite often poorly implemented. Things that don't take time away from development - better proof readers. If he's truly written the whole script, he can have people poring over it while he renders.Perfection takes time.

Time taken to render is purely grunt work requiring hardware, with very little input, while the time taken to set the scene requires quality.
I like Ocean's work, but time is a budget, just like all other resources and money. If perfection was Ocean's goal, he'd not have released SG season 1 without finding new music for the cinematics etc. The changes to Season 1 and WiaB currently are for reasons OTHER than making a great story. He can still succeed in making a great story, but again this is a question of vision, conviction and dedication, not time.
People know I love WiaB and SG. These are the only threads I write in. As much as I like and enjoy Ocean's games and as often as I'm guilty of hyperbole myself, putting people on a pedestal is counter productive. I have faith in Ocean doing a great job with WiaB Ch4 and with SG S2Ch1, but it is not perfection. I honestly thing perfectionism is the biggest reason I procrastinate, and fail to deliver to my own standards in my life. Perfection is sometimes the enemy of progress. You said one constructive criticism in a post where people treat Ocean like a god, prepare to be massacred.
So true...Good renders on adult games and good graphics in AAA games always tricks people into thinking the writing/lore is good, which is laughable
Excellent as almost always... I must say that I was trying to answer the statement made by the other user and I could not find words that are as clear as your exposition.Time =/= perfection. If there's anything we've both learned over the time we've been watching this thread, I'd guess it's something along the lines of pacing out enthusiasm because there is a long time between visits from Katie!Excellent as almost always... I think we can now safely say....this isn't the case. Or if it is, it's constantly being changed. If he's truly written the whole script, he can have people poring over it while he renders.
I think it does exist, but Ocean keeps altering it reactively. I understand why (if this is the case), but being reactive is relinquishing creative commitment - any external constraint will dilute the vision. I do believe that the redactions/changes can work really well, but if they're just bandages, the script won't heal the continuity on its own.I think we can now safely say....this isn't the case. Or if it is, it's constantly being changed.![]()
