As a Brit it gave me a chuckle for the sports star to be sticking two fingers up at the camera girl in the bolwing alley.

Jesus the hero worship of the MC and his own self sacraficing nature are kinda... sickening.

And I don't know exactly which update the bit im playing through right now was part of but the lack of real world logic is ridiculous. Please tell me someone has brought this up already. No charges are being pressed, but they've been cuffed, arrested and put into cells? I'll admit I've never been involved in a big fight like that but I don't think that's how it works. Either you're arrested for a crime or you just give a statement.

OK first they were cuffed and put in jail because they only had film from the news cameras and not from the cctv tapes at that particular time. and the MC also beat the bloody shit out of Ryker (which he deserved).

also with what you think of the MC being self sacrificing maybe true but have you ever been in an abusive relationship where your Mom was getting the shit kicked out of her and you were too small to do anything about it. Now he is older and able to defend everyone that he cares about.

I have to agree. I've been a fan and supporter of this game since the beginning, but it's loosing its semi-wholesome semi-realistic spirit and beginning to drift into total fantasy. The story's increasingly convoluted school/city leaders/police narrative is going beyond creating drama and character opportunities and is becoming downright annoying.

Hidden princesses in basements, Cede clinging to MC like a barnacle while asleep, crime syndicates, new characters almost every release...it's getting to be too much. I know this is fantasy and not a documentary but other games do more with three characters and I don't know how much more of this I can take before I totally lose interest.

I know BD is struggling right now, and trying to make this VN all things to everyone, but it's really losing focus and I have to believe it will eventually turn off anyone even remotely interested in the "novel" aspect of Visual Novels.

You are free not to play WVM and even not to like it, no one is forcing you. The same applies to participation within the thread, you are free to not follow it at any time.
Thanks for the information - I thought this was a "discussion" thread and not an "slavish adoration" thread. Boy, was I wrong

Don't forget there are dirty cops at play. Also the scene ends with the MC beating the hell out of Ryker. That is what is caught on film at the time so it made sense that he would be taken to jail. However, the "Stand your Ground" law comes into play here which is how the MC and Wendy get off without any charges. The game is set in Chicago, IL which is one of the states that follow the Stand your Ground law. Until I really dug into this I was pretty upset on how everything played out, but the developer did a great job researching the law and found the right loop holes to use to make it blow over quickly. This was all part of Day 7 final, and the legal part didn't line up until his release on Day 8 part 1. So you are a few updates behind the current release. I did a big write up on the Stand your ground law a while back, here is the link if your are curious: https://f95zone.to/threads/wvm-day-1-8-v0-8-3-braindrop.35910/post-4330552

Where did I say that you are not allowed to express yourself here? I only mentioned that one can by all means escape the MC's "admiration".
If it walks like a duck, looks like and quacks like a duck it's a "there's the door if you don't like it" duck. I think everyone knows what you meant.

polycentric HarveyD You are right you are free to feel how you choose and post as you see fit, though it's not much of a discussion, as you put it Poly, when we feel someone is posting JUST to troll without any viable feedback. I am not necessarily saying that is what either of you are doing, but I can see how other could view it that way. That said looking for realism in a porn Harem game seems ironically kinda unrealistic, but, ok, let's talk about it, what was realistic before that isn't now? Also just because the drama ramped up for a bit doesn't mean the wholesomeness isn't there.

Things have changed a touch on the hidden princess, have you played the bowling event update?

As for too many characters, maybe you're right, time will tell, question is are you willing to wait and find out?

A number of long active thread members have been critical of the game at points, including things you have mentioned, and some time ppl get touchy and react badly, but over all were good with critiquing IF it is worded right. Coming out attacking the game by saying it's sickening can affect ppl's willingness to listen, like happened to Harvey. We ALL need to work on our wording when irritated, god knows i can fail to make my points when i am, in order to have proper discussions. Thank you for sharing your opinion, even if it is dissenting.

Living in a sport worshipping state athletes are treated like royalty. Good old boys and politics taint a lot of things. The justice system is flawed.

That said this vn is my escape from real life bullshit and 2020. It's just perfect for players like me

Lmao this thread has been a trip since the last update. The dichotomy on display is truly... interesting. :LUL:

Sorry man you know I love your work. I was a little critical of a decision you made for a character, but I felt I displayed my thoughts in a nice way. I love the drama added the cedey stuff is great and I love her more with every update. I very rarely say anything negative about your story, and anytime I do I try to do it in a tasteful way. So if my comments upset up in any way I apologize it was not my intent. Like I have always said I am a supporter no matter what decisions you make. I love the story and the characters too much to ever want to give up on them.

Plus you hid a really cool message in the last update and I will never forget that. Such a simple jester that meant so much to me.

I'll happily admit when I'm wrong and it seems you can actually be cuffed without being arrested. It just all happens after a fight scene all too familiar in adult VNs, thugs kicking the crap out of the MC for no more reason than they hate him "because" and the MC doing little, or being unable to do little, to defend himself. It very quickly gets frustrating.

I don't feel there is little to no reason for it. The fight scene was done in a tasteful way. It shows the MC is no superman, it shows he is not always right on his decisions, sure some ugly things happened during the fight, but it brought up new and interesting questions. It was clear Ryker was not in a good state of mind, he was looking for his uncle and thought the MC knew where he was. I believe there is a lot more to it than just that as well. Don't forget that Ryker was working on some gambling scheme that the MC wanted no part in. The MC also knocked Ryker out once before too so the fight was like a revenge story for Ryker. There seems to be a lot more to it as well and hopefully we learn more in future updates.
