One of the few things that sounded like truth in the recent messages from BrainMacKenzie was that he didn't know how to render the action in the basketball game and was trying to rework that. Trying to show action in a game with few animations can be tricky, so that little nugget stuck out as being possibly true.

The last time there was a mental logjam like this was the much delayed "Pool Party" release, which also went through a similar timeline of delays and excuses. Trying to do water scenes (in a pool or the ocean) is a challenge in Daz. Some artists do a great job, others struggle and looks pretty bad (like WMV's purple pool water).
I'm more inclined to think there just hasn't been any substantial render production for a while, and the latest drama is another delaying tactic. When the pressure gets more real (through lower Patreon subs or a pending Abandoned tag), we'll probably see a release of several hundred renders.
This would be acceptable if BD had some credibility and wasn't just working the grift on people. As of now, NO ONE should believe a word he says ever. His actions have demonstrated that he is either done with this game entirely but is addicted to the money. Or he is suffering from a severe onset of psychosis and is currently in the process of losing his mind. Since this Mckenzie figure is clearly BD I honestly think he's bat shit crazy. Obviously, through his own brain drops and his alter ego's discord lurking correspondences he has no plan regarding updates and releases going forward, he's at such a loss that he blurted out an asinine feat of completing an update every 9 days....

He really should pivot his patreon to being therapy-based. That's clearly where his actual passion lies - he writes 28 paragraph posts about how much he's suffering all the time. If he poured that passion into the game "he loves," he'd have finished it years ago.
When you ban people for being honest, you're basically creating a restaurant scenario. Meaning, 9/10 people who don't like your restaurant won't tell you, they just either won't go or they won't praise it. Would be interesting to see the volume of praise over the last couple years - that's going to tell you more about fanbase satisfaction than how much openly negative feedback there is (since that can be removed.) Would be interested to see the volume of overall engagement as well, for the same reasons.
Man it's crazy that Mackenzie (like BD) is usually really wordy, but when forced to FINALLY answer about this actual current update.. it's just a short, one word answer lol.
