I get being optimistic but how do you come up with April 16th release? DPC said he is not going to rush this important part of development and that beta testing will start sometime in April, let's say between 9-16 and this will probably take around 2 weeks so this is either releasing very late April or early May

i know the literature and i know the studies and i had friends who worked for facebook and other social media, who filtered videos of that stuff! lets just say that the fantasy and the real thing are totally different! the fantasy is arousing but the real thing sends chills down your spine and the only thing it arouses in you is a blind anger to beat down the assholes who can do that and it takes days or sometimes weeks for the anger and the aggression to subside! its a very unpleasant thing to witness and anyone who went trough that should look for professional help and ventilate that shit before it gets stale and rots your soul from the inside!It doesn't have to be a full blown violent penetrating rape. Statistically it's something like 1 in 6 women have suffered some form of sexual assault. Most women that I personally know who have endured something like that are relatively well adjusted (I don't know of anyone who's actually been all-out raped, but plenty who've been assaulted, and not by me... Warscared probably knows more...).
It was just a thought in my case too, I don't really expect the game to go down that path.
that being said only half of true rapes are reported and the victims suffer in silence in regards to women! only 1/10 to 1/5 of male rapes are reported probably even less if the rapist is a woman on a men rape and yes those also exist!
now i make a clear distinction between a real rape and all other rapes like the famous regret rape where women interact willingly and in the end when the result is not the expected they claim rape, its considered rape if the nice doctor she dated last week is only a coffee barista, its considered rape if she agree to group sex and that gets leaked out, its considered rape if she fucked a dude that does not want to date her or be her boyfriend... and so forth and so forth and so forth! if nothing else works modern feminists claim rape and they get their way... most of the times!
90% of rape accusations are done for vapid reasons such as revenge or attention and that is why many feminist groups use the social media accusations that never get a police report to reach the data that only 3% of rapes reach court... and even those 3% they have to use statistical misdirection or just plain lies! weirdly if they included male rapes they could reach that number easily because prison life is harsh! furthermore their studies always conflate sexual harassment sexual aggression and rape! grabbing a boob or stealing a kiss is a sexual aggression but not rape!
not that its not a serious thing, after life deprivation that is the worst attack that can happen against any individual and me being a liberal anything that attacks peoples freedom is an unforgivable sin!
i have an example that i witnessed where a girl accused a friend of mine of rape, he might have he is that kind of person! he proposed to her and she accepted! i no longer spend time with that asshole but the doubt still lingers... did he or did he not? women are weird that way!
as for virgin there are 2 debates there! there is the physical debate of the broken hymen, and then there is the emotional connection debate, i do not consider a virgin if she already had a meaningful emotional connection even if they sticked with oral and anal and never went "all the way" the relationship and emotions where already used and that particularity of the hymen is just a detail!

This week I worked on the checklist from last week, doing bits of everything.
I focused on mini-games, phone content, and music.
Next week I will try to finish all writing and as much of the art left to pose as possible. Now that I have written more, I feel that there's less art left to pose than my previous estimation.
I will also start playtesting and polishing next week.
I estimate that I'm 90% complete with the update.
I'm pushing hard to produce what's left.
Excuse me for the shorter status updates that will come before release.
They don't mean that I work less; they mean that work is more focused and that we're getting closer to a release.

Let's start with the bad news first: there are no numbers here! No word on the static render count, or an overall completion percentage, or even confirmation of the final animation tally. We don't even get a patented DPC random factoid to sink our teeth into. This week I pushed to produce the remaining content; I'm almost finished with this.
Starting in a few days, I will start working on this list:
You can expect an update that will give you plenty of content regardless of how you choose to play. There is plenty of branching in this episode, and once you start to play the update in different ways, you'll discover its layers.
- Meticulously play and polish the update
- Double-check variables, choices, branches
- Compatibility test changes with older saves
- Rewrite/trim/touch up scenes after playing
- Add any content needed after tests
- Initial spellcheck before proofreading
I'm extremely proud of the work I've put into this, and I can't wait to release it.
I have a lot to test given the new features I've produced for this update and the complexity of the branching storylines.
I don't intend to rush this important part of development, but I'm sure that beta tests will start sometime in April.
This status update will be the final one before release.
As soon as I know more, I will post notifications when beta testing has started, a preliminary changelog, and a release date announcement when I'm positive that I can deliver to a certain date.
Testing will get the time that's needed without any stress. Bear with me and my testers for the final stretch, and the update will be here before you know it.

In the meantime, Episode 7 definitely sounds interesting. Branching should make for a lot of replayability, and I find it quite fun - as long as the reasons for the branching make sense. I've found most of the branching options thus far work pretty well, so I'm going to be optimistic here.

and I'm pretty sure there are lots of peoples that now wish Cyberpunk 2077 would have been delayed more in exchange for a better game
It doesn't matter waht we think. This style of art, is literally defined by its payment system. We are patrons of the artist, we provide and he does his art.
Before art became so commercialized, this was common, art was produced by the artist, not by businessmen who shaped everything from its time frame to its content.
If you want bland, derivative 'art' thats delivered quick and dirty, plenty of porn films are coming out every year. This sort of thing is a whole different beast.

Theoretically, let’s accept that beta testing will begin on April 1st or 2nd. It usually lasts somewhere between 10-14 days, if everything goes smoothly. So the April 16th release date sounds plausible.
What worries me is that if something unexpected comes up, we might get a late April or an early May release.

Her virginity in itself could be a "big deal" because how think how important and special that moment can be for people. Jill is someone for whom this would represent a great level of trust in the person she's doing it with but also a great level of feeling for them. This, for her, could certainly mean the start of a meaningful relationship, but if you're someone who's been pursuing others and continue to do so after this stage of a relationship with Jill, it could have devastating emotional consequences for Jill, and maybe that's the point; to make you feel like shit for breaking her heart.
She's clearly a very reserved and somewhat sheltered person with old-fashioned views on dating, relationships, and sex.
I don't think it's that surprising when you look at it like that.
DPC always says that they set aside 2 weeks for testing and it's always done in less than 2 weeks. This will release in April.
DPC does so much testing on their own before giving it out to the beta testers that this probably mitigates a lot of potential issues, that's why beta testing always takes less time than DPC assigns for it.
I understand your point and everyone has different things to look forward to other than a porn game or VN whatever you want to call it. I doubt anyones life revolves around a porn game but i'm just thinking how hard it would be to keep the audiences attention for 7-8 years unless he goes latin soap opera, i'm not complaining about why is he taking so long but just wish he would tidy it up a bit.I admit that my life is not the most interesting and best life

He added a new big free roam, new mini game, new phone features and whatnot combine that with branching that's apparently going to happen this episode...That's why i'm saying beta might just take 2 weeks and not the usual 7 days.
Yes but with branching, new features and whatnot i just mentioned above this might take longer. But DPC saying it would be out "before you know it" gives me a bit more hope

How does any of that change if Jill isn't a virgin? If anything, her having tried sex once and sworn it off should show an even greater level of trust in the MC if she's giving him a shot now.
Yes, the first time having sex is a major milestone in a person's life and it is obviously a significant shared event between two people. But there are plenty of milestones for the girls we will never see personally, and I'd argue any non-casual sex is significant shared event in and of itself. Why can sex be meaningful and significant for Jill only if it's her first time?

Well, there are plenty of games that keep their audience for years. Many MMorpgs, or other games, I play Overwatch 5 years now. and almost every game take years to develop 5-7. or more. I'm not talking about EA who puts out a new Fifa in every year obviously
The difference here is, We part of the development process. We real time experiencing it, even founding it. Surely he could put out a 3% updated, in every 2-3 week like NTL doing it With ToN . But personally I prefer a more meaty update , for me personally there is two time window when the waiting is harder than usual.
1, Right after I finished an update, a New episode. I immediately want to play the next one, this take usually 2-3 week to calm down.
2, When we are in the finish line. When we get the news of him being 80% completed and etc, then yes the waiting, just like the waiting before xmas it's getting harder and harder. as of it right now. We are right now on that phase

Remaining as FWB could actually be more impactful than them being an official item. Considering what she went through with Chad, the apparent years of pining and chasing after him only to be dumped so casually by him, and the fact that she'll be graduating at the end of this academic year, she may convince herself that she doesn't want another proper relationship right now. Any relationship she has may only be temporary since there's a good chance that, after graduation, she'll move far away from B&R and so she may not want to put herself through that; catching feelings for someone only to have it end when she leaves.
However, just because she might not want to catch feelings doesn't mean she won't, and so her relationship with the MC could become one where she's fighting between these 2 sides of herself, the one that wants a relationship with him and the one that doesn't because she feels it won't last. This could create quite a bit of drama in their relationship with Sage showing signs of jealousy towards the MC being with other girls thus causing the occasional friction between the two, until eventually Sage confesses her feelings near the end and the MC has to choose whether to accept them or not.

after the first big division between inside and outside the trouple now we add the division between who chose Jill or Sage (plus many other minor ones)
