idk if im in the minority, but i dislike "overly positive" and sycophantic environments when it comes to any kind of discussion. its not natural and always feels super phony to me.
like say what you will about all the insanity, fetishism, trolling, white knighting, praise, hatred, teasing, joking, complaining, whining, etc that are all equally rampant here: but that it what happens in real life when you stick 1000 different people from all over the world and from different walks of life into one room and just let them talk back and forth. this is reality with all its pros and all its cons. and id much rather be a part of reality than living in a bubble where you can only have one general opinion, cause without REAL discourse then how can you ever expect to learn new things and appreciate different points of view?
i get people not wanting to deal with negativity regarding things that make them happy, especially with the world we currently live in. but i think that is overall doing themselves a disservice and a worse decision in the long term. echo-chambers of any kind arent good for people's growth/development
just my two cents
