In my opinion DPC is more inspired or reaches a better erotic result when he is managing sex scenes with secondary characters. I find that many scenes involving main girls have quite deluded me. Bella probably is the one that deluded me most because with such a horny and sexually repressed figure I expected better, especially in the dialogues. In the dining room scene with Bella dialogues are practically absent. Also the sex with Jill was quite off, I did not feel it worked well with the situation and her character. Josy and Maya: meh, I really like Josy but her threesomes are so plain.
IMO Sage's most erotic scene was the one in the garden, where Riona and Quinn interrupt them. Among the main LI she's probably the one DPC is more inspired, because she's more libertine than the others so he has more freedom of movement. But I expected better from the threesome with Quinn, or maybe my expectations were too high for those two hot girls. :(

Probably with the secondary characters DPC has got less restrictions and he can go away with his fantasy, instead he feels restrained with a main character because he does not want to upset his paying supporters.
DPC is excellent with storytelling, but he's not very good with eroticism in the sex scenes, his dialogues are not that erotic (but that's a common trait with male developers). His best dialogues are outside the lewd scenes, DPC is great on the funny side, Derek lines are so good they make me laugh.

There are strong hints at 8 more episodes, which seems unneccessary - do we really need 8 episodes after making "The Big Choice" in Episode 8? Get over your bullshit ego, hire some people to help with the coding/technical stuff, and write a good story and include some nice graphics/animations. Nobody is going to put this thing in the Louvre when it's done.

Honestly, we're looking at another 4-5 years MINIMUM before this thing is completed. It's asking too much of your audience - especially now that there are more high quality games being released regularly.

So he could count only on his good writing skills, creativity and story planning (that's were he really shines) to cut his share of success. Would it be enough in the future? Probably in a few years there will be professional studios in adult VN or games, with skilled people dedicated on each aspect of a game. DPC works alone, would he be able to compete? Nobody knows and he's not stupid, he knows too.
He's probably making the right choice, "milking" a successful product until it lasts. Can we really blame him?

As for me, yes I would like to have more releases each year, but I am getting them for free at the moment. So in the end I'm fine with waiting, there is so much porn and VNs that I don't risk having nothing for wanking. The only ones that can put pressure on him are his paying supporters but it does not seem they are going to do it.

The mindset of those who are paying 10+ bucks a month is not that of making a purchase, but of supporting a developer.

Without those people prepared to put their money behind these developers, you'd be left with just hobbyists creating games for fun in their spare time, and the only incentive to complete the games are personal satisfaction and the gratitude of their recipients.

There's nothing stopping people only paying once each time an episode comes out (and people do that, every time a new episode comes out the subscriber count for BaDIK jumps up by a few thousand, then drops back down to its base amount).

But if people want to support DPC, and help put the gourmet food on his table, get his kids through the best colleges money can buy, and allow him to upgrade the family wagon every year, then let them. Without those people, this game wouldn't be what it is. It might not even exist.

It's the exorbitant amount of money that DPC is raking in that gives us some assurance that he won't abandon this project, as he's made this game his full time job.

Back to this "one episode a year" hysteria that people like to keep bringing up, you just have to look at the actual data and see it's not true:

The last three episodes (discounting the Interlude since it was shorter) average out at about 6 months each. If we continue down that path, the game will be delivered around August 30 (so it might slip another month, big deal). People seem to forget, he didn't start working on episode 9 until early March. There's no point pretending the Interlude didn't exist and count from the release of episode 8 (mid November).

But anyway, unless you're forking over your hard earned cash to pay for Mrs DPC's weekly pedicures, I don't know why people complain about this.

I've tolerated the fact Kellermann has become a complete drama queen. And please, let's not talk about the build up. There wasn't any build up, no alchemy, no passion. Nothing. That WAS SHITTY WRITING. Players have been waiting two fucking episodes to have a new scene with Nicole and suddenly Aragog came out from nowhere, like we were supposed to give a damn about her and forced her way through us. The whole exchange was basically :

MC : Hello random Spider Stripper.
Aragog : Hey lamb chops ! You and Nicole are a thing ?
Nicole : Yes, he's mature and it's his birthday !
Aragog : Great ! Let's have a threesome !
Nicole : Yeah totally ! Fuck the whole talk about serious relationship ! I want to share you right now !

It would have at least be 1000 times more enjoyable with a well established and attractive character like Lily but no DPC screwed Nicole's fans over. Just like he punished any completionist by creating multiple Madame scenes. :sick:

I'm not gonna sit here and suggest Sandy is some kinda goddess, she's hell aggressive, intimidating, and simply extreme in all accounts, and if someone's all butthurt that they just wanted a Nicole scene, I get that, the Madame showing up in the VIP when it should have been Nicole pissed me off for sure, but the Nicole & Sandy scene was still a blast!

While there was no chemistry between the mc and Sandy, there was definitely chemistry between Sandy and Nicole, and of course Nicole and the mc (something that the Quinn/Sage/mc scene totally lacked).

The Sage and Quinn scene was all about Quinn and her ego. She was showing off no end to Sage, the mc was just there as her tool to impress Sage, and Sage was boring throughout the whole thing. And the mc was pathetic. Nah, that scene was such a let down.

Couldn't agree more. The Sage and Quinn scene was a nuisance at best, sure it was made to show off Sage's wild side and that she's open to threesomes, but it could have been made better. The whole thing starts off ridiculously anyway - planning a party > do you want to have sex > yes. Sage taking a backseat to Quinn in that scene was probably the worst thing of it.

I'm not a fan of it of the Nicole and Sandy threesome. I would have preferred if it was Nicole solo, as that would have been amazing.

Camila and Riona threesome is easily the best one - doesn't matter which one you go first, it's a must have.

With those two, its a legitimate struggle to decide who to start with. Both girls are amazing. But i think i prefer Riona, since she seems to have a crush on Fuckface, and i'm childish like that. I like my hookers and strippers to like me.

This story will span the length of a single Fall Semester, with certainly a "flash-way-the-fuck-forward" epilogue. There is no way it's extending into the Spring without enormous fluidity-destroying, sensory-jarring time skips. If you're watching the final season of Better Call Saul, then you know what I'm talking about.

Therefore, if DPC intends to send the MC down the "We gave it a shot but it didn't work out" road resulting from a LI calling it quits, he needs to start planting those seeds now or very soon. Many possibilities exist for a LI to break it off, and some already have been laid (pun absolutely intended). I'm listing only a few select examples:

  • Sage:
    • The MC knew about the restaurant and said nothing.
    • Jade throws the MC under the bus, even if (or especially if?) you rejected her.
  • Bella:
  • Josy & Maya:
    • It will never be a fully-functioning throuple, or whatever you want to call it, and the girls go off to be with each other.
    • One tries to make it work with the MC, but they're too guilt-ridden when the MC rejects the other.

Those are easy to deduce. With Jill, I don't see anything so far that would make her doubt their relationship once the MC commits. So, in walks the Jealousy Point. One exit strategy could be that no matter what we do, Jill will accumulate enough of these points based on other influences that she reaches a tipping point.

Of course, that could be me talking out of my ass, but you're the one that said to pretend being Dalli for a little while.

Finished season 1 and now currently playing episode 5.

Planning on doing many replays of this, because it's a great game, one of the best I've played as I don't recall ever getting so gripped by the plot.

Been doing a "wholesome dude" run where MC can be tough, but cares a lot about people. So Dad and Derek always get special treatment, and MC tries to treat the girls very well, and tries to be fair. I'd call my MC a neutral good dude. In the beginnng he got into more fights, but now is trying to keep his head cool and become more mature in the process. It's a lot of fun,

People have been saying this since the very early episodes. "It might slip another month, no big deal." And then the next episode takes longer. And the next. And the next. We're up to 7 months between episodes if it releases in October to coincide with the Halloween theme. It keeps "slipping another month", and we're only half way there. It's becoming a big deal, especially when you consider the scope of the overall project. Making an audience wait this long to complete a story is not cool.

Nothing can be done. The amount of content in each episode is growing, the amount of text is growing, more renders, animations and storylines ... The quality of the renders when you compare the first season with the second is like two different generations of consoles. It takes more time to develop. No matter how many video cards the DPC has, a lot of the work is still done by hand. The only possible solution is to hire assistants, but only patrons can offer this solution.

I don't understand why the same topic of how long the updates take comes up every single week.

The number of renders and animations grow, the content grows, the branches keep branching out with exclusive content that you can only see if you're on a especific path... it's not like the update comes out and you play through the entire Episode and every path under an hour or two unless you skip through everything at the speed that you're fapping.
