Another question....
What are Jade and Cathy referring to?

"I didn't know before going there." (Cathy)

Did the game specify what are they talking about? I know this scene is somewhat connect to the frustration outburst of Jade in the break room.

But, yeah, my 3rd run and still have 0 clue about the context, only speculation.

at the beginning it seemed that there would have been 12 chapters, now they talk about 16-20... it seems very strange to me all this range for a story already defined, we will see
According to who? Because the first estimate DPC gave was 10-20 episodes.
The first time I mentioned anything about the total episode count I said 10-20 episodes.
And the 2nd Q&A backed that up:
The public information is 10-20 episodes and coming this far into the project; I think that it’s an estimation that still holds, but, right now, it’s leaning to be in the 14-20 episode range.
Anyone else throwing out episode predictions is just making stuff up.
What are Jade and Cathy referring to?
No one knows, speculation is largely pointless. My initial thought was:

I really think its just over Cathy resigning. Cathy seems to basically be Jade's only outlet away from the school and Burke, and Jade feels Cathy is abandoning her. So Jade was probably leaking some of that resentment towards Cathy. And in the following ep, its clear Jade is depressed over Cathy leaving, but perks up after MC reminds her that its not like Cathy is moving away. They can still hook up after work.

It being over Cathy resigning also fits the remark about how Cathy didn't know she was going to "do it" while heading over 'there'. The preceding week has Cathy being tough, taking control over her class and not letting the cluck screw up her life. She didn't behave like a person about to quit and run. So it makes sense to me that it was a spur of the moment thing that happened earlier that night. Maybe Stephen made some stupid comment and that was just the straw on the camel's back or something.

Not every hot mom is a MILF, or would you call an 18 year old mom a MILF? The term MILF actually has little to do with motherhood, but rather means "middle-aged" women. I have no idea how old Nicole is, I guess she is in her late twenties, so she wouldn't be a MILF for me. An 18 year old would perhaps see this differently, the whole definition probably also depends on the perspective of one's own age.
It's literally an acronym for mom i'd like to fuck.

I didn't play to many of porn game, aside from some of the more know game. And I personally prefer his writing style over everyone else. And that goes to the Sex scenes too. I prefer his approach of : I Show you, rather than describing to you what is happening . There is nothing more Cringe, than reading as someone try to write a tolkien novel, under a porn image. - " As you penetrate inside of her, she lets out a moan as her pussy tightening around your cock " - :ROFLMAO:.
and other similar masterpiece writing :ROFLMAO:.

HE did it once with the Jill masturbation scene, and yeah ..... . But the difference was that it was at least a character inner monologue, rather than the author try to talk to the Player.

And DPC usually drop this , you have the first or second encounter, where the characters, or more specifically the girls have inner monologue during sex, but in the second or third time, once he shown this , HE drop this. MC may or may not still have a couple of inner thought, but usually it is a back and forth conversation between the characters, what is makes it more "real". - it is end up as a conversation about what they like or don't like, is this feels good or not. "dirty Talk " or "role play talk" - etc.

I might be alone but I prefer this over, the other writers :)
You're not alone, I'm a big fan of DPC's non-narrated style sex scenes. It helps develop the characters and fits the game's relatively cinematic style.
'Show, don't tell' is the core principle of visual storytelling.
Agree 100% with all of you. Rather than me regurgitating what I've said in the past, my opinion is here and here. I still feel the Sage scene after the movie night is the best example.

But having said that, I've been playing A House in the Rift lately, and it goes down the narrative route and does ok, but this one scene I thought was just fucking great:

You make sure to get all the cream off her nipple. It reacts eagerly, and a soft moan escapes her lips.
You enjoy this for a few moments and withdraw.
Azraesha: "Mmhh... You have a fleck on your lips. Come here."
She leans forward, lips parted.
You connect for a deep, long kiss. Her tongue softly circles your teeth and retracts, inviting yours. Your lips touch, rub, nudge and separate. Sweetness of the cream residue subsists, but her taste is even better.
Azraesha: "I want you in me right now."

Does it need to be said that her request was granted? It was. :sneaky:

I actually agree in some way with BorgiaBou because DPC has no incentive to speed up the process. There are suckers out there shelling out 100$ a month on this game. That's a lot of money for one game. That's more than the price of any AAA game out there. He can easily hire just one person to help out, but he refuses to do so .... ego? greed? At this rate, the game is most likely going to finish in maybe 2025 .... if we are lucky. I have no issues with buying a complete product on Steam. I do it all the time, my steam list is growing endlessly. It's absolutely insane to drop that amount money per month and for how many years?
It's his game and he obviously loves doing it. He's forked out thousands of dollars to by several RTX3090 to increase his output and he works long hours during the week. His exact words:

"Work averages to 12-18 hours per day, every day of the week. I have had a few days off here and there, but my last real vacation was back in 2017. I start my day by processing animation frames, and static renders while simultaneously checking my communities (Patreon, Discord, and Steam). Then I work with what I’m in the mood for unless something takes priority."

If he had "no incentive" to speed up the process, why did he fork out something like 12K on new video cards to speed up the process? Why is he working 12+ hours a day when he could slack off and just do a 9-5 day like every other lazy cunt?

If people want to fork out a fortune each month to support him, that's their business. As an individual they are definitely paying more than they would for AAA games, but AAA game ends up making hundreds of millions of dollars; after 10 years, DPC would be lucky if he cleared 10 mil. These people aren't buying his game, they are paying for him to create it.

These crazy people who are forking out the cash to developers on Patreon are the reason why we get a game like this. Once DPC had enough patrons, he quit his job and went full time on this game. He's investing in hardware and he's improving his techniques and quality all the time.

Sure, he could hire a bunch of people to help him with his game, but what the fuck for? It's his passion, why should he share the development of that with others and dilute his achievement. Call it ego or pride if you want, but it's his baby, and he's delivering it, and he's doing a fucking fantastic job.

There are unreasonable trolls here who don't want to wait for stuff they didn't even pay for and are incapable of gauging how much effort has gone into a project. You just have to play the game to see how much effort has gone in. I'm wondering if those trolls even played the game at all...

It was an intense week. The last percentages of work on any update always mean a lot of work.

And since it's the final update of the season, the workload has been even more significant than usual.

I have managed to narrow down the checklist further.

Art tasks that remain:

  • Render time for the final animation queue. Currently, 28 animations are waiting to render.
Other tasks that remain:

  • Polishing the dialogue and code
  • Playtesting
  • Thorough testing of transferring saves between Season 2 and Season 3 (Steam and Patreon).
  • Double-checking variables
  • Quality control of renders/animations
  • Fixing bugs that I find while testing

I have reached the point where I will playtest both the entire game and episode 8 a lot. If I feel that something is off, find bugs, etc. I will fix and add anything needed as I go.

As the game grows in size, so does this task. One single playthrough of episode 8 should take hours to enjoy.

Beta testing and proofreading will start after all animations have been rendered to completion and I have gotten the time I need to complete the rest of the tasks.

What I do know at the moment is that the planned content for the update currently is:

  • 4065 static renders
  • 359 animations
  • 24 pieces of 2D art
  • 36 new songs
  • 31 new sound effects
Have a nice weekend

Presuming all still renders are complete, little over 300 hundred more than episode 7.

1634297345171.png

Presuming 331 complete animations (359-28). For reference episode 7 had 250. Good Progress, clearly the biggest update yet. Still over a week in rendering time left for animations. We might hope for beta testing to begin between the update of the 22nd and the 29th October. 5th-19th November continues to be a reasonable estimate.

Not as many numbers as I'd hoped (we could really use some idea of where we stand on statics), but we still get some useful intel. DPC has announced new end goals for both statics and animations but gives us know indication of our current totals. We know there are 28 animations still in the queue, and DPC does not mention anything about statics in his remaining art tasks. That suggests we currently stand at 4065 static renders and 331 animations.

If that's the case, DPC has had a recent render rate of ~153 statics and ~16.5 animations per week. Here's my best estimates at the charts:

As you can see, going by these numbers we're about two weeks from completing the last renders and beginning the final beta playtest stage. With 2-3 weeks for playtesting, that means we're probably looking at a release in the November 12-19 range; November 5 might still be possible if the final animations are quick and playtesting goes smoothly, but that's a very rose colored scenario. All told, this looks fairly consistent with our recent estimates, so I'm inclined to believe it, but again, there's a lot of margin for error here. And it's always possible the beta testing could stumble on a gnarly glitch or two.

Still, we're definitely in the home stretch now. Just need to be patient a little longer.:)

EDIT: Probably worth noting that the wait for Episode 8 is now officially the longest ever at 25 weeks and counting. We'll have to see if it's worth it, but I'm inclined to give it the benefit of the doubt as long as we get our Halloween party...

Just 3 more weeks I suppose, we are near the finish line. Finger crossed!

According to who? Because the first estimate DPC gave was 10-20 episodes.
I can't give you exact references, but in a Q&A I read while waiting for the sixth chapter, DPC talked about at least ten chapters, but that he wouldn't be surprised to get to 16 or even more.

in the last Q&A instead has begun to make more likely the threshold of 20 chapters or more.

no one knows how the story will go on, but keeping the current structure of 4 chapters for each season I don't understand how there can be doubt about the necessity of a whole season if the story is really already established. and this regardless of how many fillers there will be.

Updated BigTable with the recent informations.
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
  • In 22 days, DPC made an extra 460 renders. We have now +9% (+342) regarding EP7.
  • 29 days ago, DPC had 337 animations ready and estimated to go up to 355, it's now 359 (+22). Total +44% (+109).
  • DPC added an extra 10 premium sounds for 1990$. EP8 will have double amont of tracks vs EP7, a total of 7164$.
  • The update will probably weight more than 4 GB.
  • You can also check the Rooster teaser prediction post.
By waiting ALL animations to be fully rendered (28), DPC might waste a big week of betatesting.
I might getting less optimistic, an Halloween release is still available but with a max range of 27 October to 11 November.
