It might not be a problem for people who already finished all 3 episodes.
But it is annoying for new players to remember who is who.

somewhat similar names might raise the bar a little but not that much
you're just straight up calling people stupid for not being able to recognise the smaller difference's(doubt there are that many that have real difficulty's whit your stated issue, no more then 10 for sure)
anyway Names are on the screen most off the time for whom ever is talking
and there is a codex whit all names whit a render showing what they look like
i see absolutely no reason to say " this game uses terrible character names. "

I doubt KK will change it anyway 1. its his story so he gets to name them 2. were to far in to even think about changing anything if would create way to much confusion all the sudden

Did I ask somebody to change the names? No. I commented about the names being very confusing (bad).
And the game doesnt really have a codex. It is only a relationship tab, it only includes people with whom the MC has some sort of relationship. It doesnt include side characters. Problem is apparent when some main characters mention some side characters and then it is still confusing. So my complaint is still valid.

Having similar names for your children could be done so to show and/or make solidarity for said family
you're right about it being a relationships tab instead off a codex that is true
but that doesn't counter my argument about the names(whit render image) being there for the(most likely few) people who struggle,
in the end your complaint is indeed "valid" but i see it as something that only "simple minded/low IQ people" struggle whit and mostly would still keep gooing because people enjoy AVN's for more then "easily understandable names for 100% off the characters"

Thank the lord for that, every single VN that has a million different branches invariably sucks. This isn't Baldur's Gate 3 we're playing, it's a porn story. VN developers who waste time maintaining a million different branches just end up with less porn and less story. "wOw, mY cHoIcEs MaTtErS, So cOoL!11" players exclaim, as their chosen path gets updated with new content about every three years IF they're lucky.
So many players complain about kinetic novels but they shouldn't, they just genuinely don't think enough about what's good for them. KNs are amazing and packed with content and every single update, you get to see all the content. You'd have to be insane to complain about that.
"bUt MaH cHoIcEsss!11" go play Mass Effect or something. Seriously, you people need to get even just the tiniest clue of what actually makes a good porn game. I enjoyed this update. The ongoing world building and plot continues to intrigue me. And yes, while there are some criticisms that others have brought up, I choose to wash them away with "it's not my story, not my characters" and I want to see how you move everything and everyone forward. After all, no story is perfect and there are bound to be some missteps.
