yeah, Ashley's path entirely hinges on a single choice in that a dialog with Emily... everything else is pretty much forced after that. she is very aggressive, knows her way around men, and how to lower their resistance to zero, and MC is a horny virgin.Yeah, i'm not happy about that. I mean it's fine to have sex with her if i was on her route (which i will probably do one day ), but because i'm on the love route with em, let me be in that route! Why can't i have a choice about that, like most of the game?
It's like i'm betraying em, doesn't feel nice. I didn't even flirt, like i get the +10 for the shower from episode 1 + whatever for the blowjob i cannot avoid in episode 2 and that it? i mean i could avoid everything else, i even fail the check on the train when she gonna smoke (gladly, i'm on em route ), the game give me choice but here in episode 11 they are nada, it feel really unpolish in my humble opinion.
Edit: even with the cheatmod and putting 0 corruption with ash, i get the scene. I don't have the courage to began the whole game from the start to not have this scene
On the topic of the MC behing unreal, stupid or whatever, i don't feel that a bit. Maybe it's because i was really awkward in my youth with girls, so i think he is not that bad at all. And the mc can be play as honest, which is always a plus for me, because that's what i am. Nothing wrong with playing what i am not, but in the romance category, i think that honesty is what make a good relationship.
the MC indeed has a base, he can function for the most part in society, being polite and respectful enough, around men. it's mostly around women that he is completely incompetent and inadequate, which entirely by chance, works for him in the best way possible. The point I made about the social skills you develop in childhood is a base from which you develop as you grow older.
The reason I carried on playing was that I hoped the character would improve somewhat. I liked the story with Samantha when he attempted to rescue her, it was quite a powerful scene which I thought was very sweet of him to do, even though he got a really bad beating for it. Then we have the interactions with Samantha going forward and eventually the sisters story which I really enjoyed too. I put aside the way the mc acted so I could read those stories. The fact I don't like the way the MC reacts or speaks sometimes, doesn't mean I dislike the game, I just dislike the weird behavior of the MC at times especially during or after the sisters story.
I can verify what you say regarding showering us women with compliments is the polar opposite mostly, unless the male wants something, which makes me cringe. I understand what your saying. I guess I was just giving my thoughts and thats all they where and if I offended anyone including the developer, it was honestly not my intention at all.
I just thought this game would have been better if you could select who you wanted to be with at the end of the game, which would have been wonderful. I know the developer at the beginning said you will end up with Emily, I just hope that is not the case, and you can actually choose. I know the points are for each individual girl or side girl, and Emily seemingly is the focus. I know a number of people would have liked this to even have some kind of harem system, which is kind of fun I guess. As i said, it's not the game I have the problem with, its' the MC behaving unrealistically that's all. I love the fact that he compliments the girls, but sometimes I think it's just fake because as you have said irl this kind of thing is not common sadly.
Haha yes he did take a rather long break of more than a year from chapter 8 to chapter 9, which was tiny compared to what went before, but at least the new episodes are coming far quicker than they used to do.
you expressed your opinion and had a healthy discussion afterwards, that's entirely fine. it's just that your first comment that triggered the discussion, you came off as demanding some other dev takes over and change the game completely with the same characters.
you are invested in the game, you like some parts, dislike others, that's pretty much the standard experience. the dev can't please everyone, but at least he should stay true to his initial vision/intention, instead of losing his way and trying to milk his supporters like we have seen so many others do.
we still don't know for sure if we won't be able to choose at the end. that could change depending on the dev. all we know for sure is what is in the game : Emily is the only one with love points and corruption points, all the others have corruption points only or are event flag based. a relationship with love growing out of a corruption path is not unheard of. in the last side story, Emily forgave MC for being a manwhore, but it's not canon, it could be very different in the canon main story.
