No, no one said that. You can pursue multiple girls romantically and have sex with them (at your choices with which ones, unless during exhibitions where sex scenes are forced). It's just not a harem game, so ultimately you will have to choose a girl (or no one) sometime near the end
Well I could envision a bi-curious Mina to end up together with Edwin and either Hana or Veronica. But whether they get their full blown ending or it only culminates in a sex scene or two will remain to be seen. AFAIK the devs have not confirmed or denied either way.
We need a not-OCTRA tag or something for people people like you. Because the more you guys use the NTR the more it loses its proper meaning.
NTR has a specific meaning, roughly, "the action to steal a loved one". It gets a visceral response from people because it requires there to be something real (love, loyalty, trust) relationship that can be destroyed. In the end LI tramples on relationship and prefers the interloper even if sexual relationship had begun on dubious grounds (rape, blackmail etc.). It's not the sense of betrayal that gives the oomph to the emotional punch(though it's required), it's the hit to the self esteem, implication that you never made your partner trully happy despite your "love", "loyalty" and/or "personal sacrifice". What really mattered was sexual prowess and you were never good enough. In fact you were so incompetent that your loved prefers a disgusting rapist bastard over you (I am exaggerating for effect). That is what NTR is. It sows seeds of doubt that no relationship no matter how perfect they are can be secure if one is not a sex god. It feeds on tiny dick energy. Insecurities, inferiority complexes, etc.
Whole "personal interpretation" nonsense is that "one cock to rule them all" (octra) people can't let other play with their toys. Their gripe comes from jealousy and possessiveness. It's somewhat pedestrian compared to NTR. But "cheating" doesn't rile up the porn addicts enlightened connoisseurs of adult material so they pick the word that gets response from people. Like how uninformed vegans go meat is "murder". It's an ignorant kid using a swearword because it gets reaction from adults.
This game does not have NTR (so far). Everybody is in it for themselves and they have their own priorities over relationships. There is nobody to steal, no proper relationship with Edwin. (well there is one but I prefer devs don't go there. But it would create a biblical meltdown in game and meta.).

Some/many people find sexual scenes between an LI and some male other than the MC boring and or off putting, so they lump any of those into NTR. While I'm disinterested in such scenes, I fully recognize that many of them are NOT NTR pretty much by any definition. On that basis I kind of like the notion of an OCTRA tag, the presence or lack there of would clarify things for all concerned. Not that I think there is the remotest chance in hell of us getting such a tag.
It was pretty frustrating to be locked out of 2 separate Veronica choices for not having the rapport I thought I'd been developing. I feel like those requirements are a tad high, and I don't really feel like replaying the entire game to get them.
Especially when I've been doing the legwork to do her quest, It just feels hollow to be locked out of concern towards her.
In what I felt was a reasonably pro-veronica save. I had 16 affection and 14 horniness.
Frustratingly, I can't salvage this at the end of the night either, because the friendship option is greyed out too.
Ah, yeah. I went around and around on what number would be appropriate there. It can be hard to get a good feel of what is reasonably achievable in a blind play through (which is usually my aim for these things) given all the options in the game.
After playing the public release i am finally able to catch up and i am currently screening through 25+ thread pages since the leak of the beta-version a week ago. So bear with me if i am answering to half-necroed issues which are already settled.
Regarding Spamwises frustration about not meeting the required affection score to hug Veronica:
I ended update 3.3 in what i felt was a not very pro-veronica save with 13 affection and 13 horniness. I even opted for the infamous choice which gives her whopping -4 to her affection and at least one other choice which gave -2 affection. So that is that.
However if we assume a blind playthrough there are indeed a lot of choices (i counted 9 of them in the 3.2 walkthrough) where you can loose -1 affection instead of gaining any, some of them rather counterintuitive because Veronica is a complicated woman and these can of course add up. While it is relatively easy to gain affection with Mina and lets say Hana by just not being a prick, one need to be much smarter with Vero, because lip service, giving random compliments or being handsy without the needed trust/affection will backfire on her.
So while i am generally onboard with the 22 affection threshold for the ensuing friendship after the hug (? not quite sure about that, because i obviously missed it), it is imho worth considering to lower the threshold for the actual hug to something like 16 or 18 and reward it with like +2 affection, checking the total afterwards and so lowering the effective score for her friendship to 20.
After reading some other comments, i feel like the majority of those about this issue are fine with the threshold as it is.
Also i want to thank and congratulate both GIL3D and TD1900 on completing another fine piece of work in their exploration of this tale and its characters!
That was...a lot, but it feels good to pick my own brain like this. It speaks to the quality of the content; I don't go off writing essays analyzing just any game. Much thanks again to TD and GIL for creating an immersive story and agonizingly human characters. Really, really looking forward to the next update now that the exhibition is out of the way and we can focus on the character drama some more.
What a great synopsis for a great game. Hats off for a concise, well-founded and insightful analysis of the characters presented in this update. To be honest i am jealous not being able to articulate my thoughts about them on your level. Perhaps i can try to add some of my views later, after i read more of the remaining thread.

The word "wholesome" seems to be overused and looking for scenes like these in a game set in a brothel seems silly to me (although the game does have scenes that could be described as such, even in the newest update). And while there is no harem here, we can have sex with most characters (female of course) that we encounter and pursue more than one character romantically (more than two even, not sure how far it can go but for now it's true).
As for LI (not sure why you've emphasized "singular" when we can have multiple), depending on who it is we can keep them from taking part in debauchery, although considering the brothel setting it should be obvious what you can expect. But yeah, I find it hilarious that people here will read the description (where it's explicitly stated that it's a brothel setting, full of debauchery and "cruel erotic games") and then ask "does it have NTR?" (by which they don't mean what they think it means, instead they're asking if this being a brothel game all girls will be exclusive to us)...
Maybe devs should include a FAQ in the OP (with a link to this post and this one), albeit seeing comprehension skills of some it wouldn't help that much.
