Hello, the videos are webms 1280x720. The advantage of webps is that the compression is significant, but it requires more CPU to decompress, I think. Webms can also be problematic on certain older mobile devices.This isn't reddit, i've no desire to yell back and forth for social posturing. My original post should have been more constructive and advised dev to compile movies as video files instead of having renpy animate image series on the fly (which is what I'm assuming he's doing, as this is significantly more resource intensive).
I don't use image series because this method is stupidly inefficient when it comes to compression. And the author of Ren'py himself recommends using video files.
A curiosity: I tend to leave the camera always fixed in the videos because this helps with the compression of the webps. The fewer pixels that move on the screen, the better, so a fixed camera helps a lot to keep the files small.
