I think I read somewhere that even if you get the car (when released) you still lose one hour because it's an essential game mechanic for one reason or another.
To be honest you should go find the cheat mods in here and use the cheats for money/attendance/items like liquor. Trust me I grinded it out for a long time. Even with cheats it still takes hours and hours and hours, but you save yourself dozens of hours of meaningless grinding.
Using the cheats I also used literally $1mil+ of money to keep everyone happy, to rent out the rooms and adult TV etc etc. This is one of my fav games and even without playing it "legitly" I very much enjoy it (I don't affect people's opinion of me btw, I just skip days/get money/change time/have perfect attendance). TBH removing those elements of the grind actually let me enjoy the game more, and also saves me dozens and dozens of hours.
$1 mil, have you made that much money yet? This grind is epic
