That would have to be a truly ancient save then. The process of finding the Crone is the same as it has been since the wilderness map was introduced a long time ago. Leave town, click map, choose Crone's hut. She's not in town, so if you're trying to find her on the town map, you're out of luck.
It might be truly ancient! Is 3/30/18 a date that makes sense to the development timeline? I remember Samarra talking like a Russian extra.

I've never seen the wilderness map. Right now, I click the map, get to the town map, click leave town, and I get a grassy forest scene with my only menu choice is to return to town. Seems like the same time Morning or Afternoon, and Night tells me it's too late.

You access the wilderness map the same way you access the town map: with the map button. It's context-sensitive, so try clicking the map button while in the wilderness. You'll figure it out. If you're really struggling to make sense of it, try playing the tutorial again. Instructions have been added there since you last played.

@Belle Would you be willing to post a compressed and an uncompressed version of the same render? I know you said that it made no difference in your opinion, but ever since you said that, I've been really curious to see for myself.

There you go. It's probably possible to see a difference between them if you zoom in or look extremely close (JPG *is* lossy compression, after all. By definition, detail must be lost to some degree), but I can't really see any difference between them at regular zoom. I'm using JPG compression at the second highest quality possible in my image applications. Had I gone with the highest quality, the size would be roughly the same between the two images, which would defeat the point. For the record, the PNG represents the image exactly as it was when it came out of the renderer. The JPG is compressed after that.

Got it, thanks! Have you thought about having different icons for the town map and the wilderness map? Or a line of text to remind the player?

I'll try and find the tutorial, thanks for the pointer. Is that in a new game?

It also appears that some things didn't unlock for me in the gallery. Are they supposed to unlock in order? I know I've seen a scene with Sarmarra, but all of hers are unlocked.

That's probably not going to happen. It's more likely that I'll add a menu option to open the map in appropriate locations, but I'm not particularly fond of the idea.

The tutorial is the linear section at the start of the game, up until you're given full control during day two.

There is no order. They unlock when you find them. Some are mutually exclusive.

@Belle I'm going to have to disagree that there is no perceivable difference. If you look at the small patch of skin between the two ties in the cleavage area that shape is clearly more defined on the top image. You can also see that the left shoulder/upper arm, the lower quality image tends to get patchier and the shading is less defined. The biggest difference to me is her face where the patchiness happens again, and the lines specifically around the nose and eye crease area are less defined. Now, this all being said, it took me a minute or so of close scrutinizing to become acquainted with the image to really notice the difference and the lower file size is undoubtedly worth it. These are just my personal observations and opinions of course.

The important point here is this: if you hadn't seen the original PNG, you would never have noticed any of those things.

Yeah now that I see the difference is so subtle I have no qualms. I meant nothing by it, I have just been wondering for months so I had to ask. Keep up the fantastic work!

The two last scenes with Primrose are mutually exclusive. You're either her boyfriend (if you spent a lot of time with her) or her sexfriend (if you didn't really take care of her), and saving her from prison seem to give you "boyfriend points", but it's not definitive.

@Belle within v0.18, the old main screen looks obsolete to me... things may lead to a specific location (or town map either way)

View attachment 258699
It's not obsolete because a lot of events send you back there, depending on time of day. While it no longer has direct links to other places (except the home location), it still serves as a "hub" of sorts. You'll go there less often than you used to, though, since you can now move directly between otherwise unrelated locations without going through the streets first.
