quite easily it seems even what's new/req on this update has been talked past couple pages.
well in that case don't ever play summer with mia 2, the spellbook, or any other avn where choices matter.

I'm experiencing a bug in episode 4, I get to the part where you're about to head to the cave with the line "You gather the rest, and start heading towards the cave" and then the game just puts me back at the title screen. Is there a fix or way around this?

Arigon did you already posted your thoughts on how the meeting with Virgil will go when we meet him next update or are you waiting to see what happens like us ?
I get the feeling we'll finally see glimpses of who all are out to get us, as we saw Roland in the temple and now we might see how true Fabian is to his liege(calisto)

Actually I can judge anything anyone does or says because the mind is it's own country it can make a heaven of Hell or a hell of Heaven. I wouldn't expect you to understand that as you seem to think that just because people are on a pirate site somehow people lose their ability to discern things. A very odd position to hold.
Actually its well known that most people don't post and don't read the forums because most people are just interested in playing games. Just because YOU use the forum religiously doesn't imply any sort of universality to such behaviour. Again you hold a very odd position feeling that it should be like this.
I don't see how it is inane to point out that if update 3 and 4 were distributed in different way as in each giving 50% of their content to each of the paths, You would not have anyone given nothing and each path would have ended in the same spot. And no one would be thinking that the game was bugged. Despite what you may think if a user downloads an update and they get no content at all, they are not going to think this is a great update. They are either going to be miffed or think something is wrong. And if such results could be eliminated with just a simple change to distribution why is that inane?
Seem perfectly reasonable to want to keep people happy. And try not to get your nickers in a bunch everything I said also includes patrons, Patrons who took the Laurie path likely aren't happy they got nothing this update and everyone who took the laurie dies path were not likely pleased they got nothing update 3. Again there was a VERY simple change that could have been done that results in none getting nothing over the past two updates. Not sure why you are freaking out over this point.

Virgil is definitely an enemy even though he is not Calisto's childe.
He is a 2-3k old Roman, and he is not at all friendly nor friendly intentioned towards us.
One of the fights we are going to have is with him. I do not think it will be for a few more updates though. Probably Chapter 5 for the actual throw down, though we may have some warm ups with his pets.
Roland is a physical guy as Fabian said, and is being manipulated by Virgil and to a large extent, Fabian.
The list of who is out to get us is much larger than the number of allies. However, the real target of Virgil is Calisto I think, and she is our biggest ally. I still think he wants to snack her down. He knows enough about her to know he wants to commit diablerie on her, but I don't think he really knows much more about her. He is probably going to make a move on the MC crew in this chapter though, but not Virgil directly if I am guessing. I think he doesn't know that he has a faux elder in the MC and that when he sends his crew to take the MC out, he will be unpleasantly surprised.
The Princeps might be receptive to putting down a rogue elder. I think that one of the reasons that Fabian wants to be there is to ensure that they take this seriously, and that the crew that goes down is more robust than a few Nos.
That still won't work, but all that has to happen is to get Inanna off whatever hooks or restraints that Ereshkigal has her on, and then pray that we are not a slurpee. I am sure that will be a blood bath. What I am saying is that when they go down the next time to awaken Inanna, I do not think there will be many survivors either.....
I still think that Inanna wanted Calisto to embrace the MC to give some insurance to Calisto when Virgil makes his move. That might be before the last battle but I am thinking it will be part of the last battle.
I do think Marcius is due for a smack down, as is the Southern Archon whose name escapes me at the moment, but he is the one that Andrew has a beef with, and I can't think we are gonna leave our baldy buddy hanging out to dry. Every dog has his day, if he waits long enough....I do think Marcius and Eloise are on the short list for this chapter though. Near the end I am thinking, as there will be some maneuvering as folks begin to suspect that the MC is the power in Scottstown...well other than the two Goddessess.....
I am reforming my theories around the fact that Virgil is a true elder, similar to but not as powerful as Calisto, but is not her childe. As before he wants to snack her down. As before SHE is important to Inanna's fight, not the MC, but the MC is important to keep Calisto alive to get to that point, which means fighting Virgil.

I do not think that Patrons are upset at all. I know I am not. True I work for them, but I am also a patron of the game. You presume too much.
Same problem here. I've added the line "jump ep4part2" at the end of the "ep4part1.rpy" file to be able to continue.

THE DEV IS MILKING US, THE UPDATE IS SOOOO SHORT.
As a dev you can't make all happy. If you give people choice that result in path that result in path locked content. Then people will complain, either because the content per release is low or the update frequency for "their" path is low or simple because there is locked content behind a path that you can't unlock - other than with a mod - than through, wait for it, actually playing a different path.
And if you don't give them the choice then that is the issue that players don't have a choice at all....
Most of the "disappointment" here comes from that simple fact that most of the games are in development. But even if this wouldn't be, they will find something to complain about.

Really? you think patrons like getting no content in an update? What rational bases do you think people like zero content? That logic makes absolutely zero sense.
Again its not my fault that you think it is inane to have given people content over both patches instead of given people one update with no content and one update with content. I find it again very odd that you have invested so much energy against a simple point that splitting up the two paths into 50-50 chunks so both paths got content over both patches. It makes no sense that you are so against this point. Even someone with your bias could see the utility here. No one would be upset about getting nothing if everyone gets something. Why are you so upset about this point in principle?
I never made the claim not implied the Dev was milking people. I never brought up this at all. I do find it strange you read my comment and that was your conclusion. Unless you are actually deliberately straw manning my position.
I merely pointed out the problems with choice in games and why so many game that try to do this fail and why even AAA studios try and fail Mass Effect anyone? Or don't bother.
What I was pointing out was that creating content releases based on path alienates people, and angerly attacking these people isn't helpful. In my first post I said and I quote "...people are being pretty unreasonable both those who are up set about the update and those calling people entitled."
I am not upset that content for me was zero but i do think it was fucking stupid by the development team to release the last two updates based on path taken vs given both paths content over the last two updates.
What i find odd is just how blindly fanboi-ish people are being about this. In fact the only push back I am getting for pointing out this very obvious solution to the problem isn't from people who were upset about the update but from the fanbois. Who can't seem to accept any criticism, even constructive criticism of their beloved game. And make no mistake pointing out an issue and providing a solution is constructive in nature. So why are you mischaracterizing my position? I'm not saying that the dev has to do what i suggest but people are being a little blind and petty to attack someone who gives constructive criticism, it smacks of insecurity.

People complain if choices matter. They complain if they don't matter. They complain if it is kinetic, which is your desired position apparently. People were warned in advance about the branch. They gave no negative feedback through discord or Patreon. It was the way that the devs wanted to do this particular moment in the novel.
Of course since you do not bother to read anything except responses to your inane and pointless posts, you can't be bothered to actually read anything related to this very thing. Most of the posts of confusion, likewise come from people who do not read.
Whether it is a whackfest or something more like this, which is adult but not porn, if you are not a patron who gets updates in your email, then it would be wise if you want to keep up with a game you like, to consult the forum dedicated to said game.
You want the devs to combine the two paths into the same update, which would mean actually cutting them in half, with not knowing anything for the same two months that you have here. So yeah, this is a stupid conversation. What is even more stupid is that most people have more than one save on this, so they are getting content either way.... As they said, Never go full Retard... I guess you didn't catch that.

lol Sure, cutting each by 50/50 and releasing both at the same time; players won't be getting nothing, but it's pretty much guaranteed to have complaints "Update is too short!" (unless they're pursuing both Laurie survived & Laurie is dead path with different saves).
So one way or another, there will be people who are complaining.
Besides iirc it was early May that LikesBlondes made that Patreon announcement about having each path over the 2 months (May = Laurie survives path, June = Laurie died path), so most people following this thread were pretty much aware of what's coming in June, with it likely being either very, very little content (if there was even any), or no content.
So if you didn't know about it before and upset about it after finding out now, why should that be the dev's fault?
LikesBlondes made it clear in advance (as I said in previous paragraph, early last month), and it's not like majority of Patrons seems to be having an issue with it either.
And speaking of people who are upset about it; only people that seem to be upset about this decision are people who haven't been following the dev posts and didn't see it coming.
Majority of people (all who have been aware of the paths split over the 2 months), when they found out there was no content, their reactions generally have been "Oh well, not surprised." or "Guess it's wait till next month." in a pretty nonchalant, or even indifferent reaction.

i downloaded episode 4 update 4 but it ends at the end of update 3 .

You should wait for the next update as this update was only for those who let Laurie die. If Laurie is "alive" in your game, then this update has nothing for you.
I appreciate the suggestion, but the game gives me an expected statement error when I try that.
There was a patched "ep4part1.rpy" somewhere a few pages back, maybe you can search for that. Or use the mod from Koga3, he fixed that in his files, too.

I added it exactly as displayed without the part for the mod and renpy is still giving me the expected statement error. I'll just have to see if I can find the mod or the patched version, though searching directly for it doesn't seem to give me any results. Might just have to scan through a bunch of pages.
