It's really buging you, right? :)
Well, and since they all have feelings for the Mc, in the end you can't make them all happy anyway. No harem ending, here. And as in life, you can try to assess what the collateral damage will be the least important, by choosing path "A", rather than path B C or D, you still leave B, C, and D behind. So path A would be the one that makes B,C, and D less unhappy hoping that A is fully satisfied. This is typically altruistic reasoning, and very nice in theory, but completely flawed when it comes to feelings. The Mc is happy whatever path YOU choose, so if you choose according to this principle of fairness, it makes YOU, the player, the fifth wheel of the carriage. But looking more broadly, I think you're right about that. Why this craze for Cece? Probably we can feel the duty to help her and be by her side. Leaving her behind can cause feelings of guilt because she seems the most vulnerable.
There's also Linda who's really been in love with the Mc for a long time, but since you can hook her up with Chris, that might be an alternative for those who think the friend zone is a problem. Lexi has Holly, Kira has Robin and Steph made her choice by being a secret agent, although I feel sorry for her because she is left alone for having wanted to protect the life of the Mc.

But to tell the truth, and looking at the stats, there are a lot of people here who are making a choice that they wouldn't make, or haven't made in their real life, because the game allows an alternative that will perhaps compensate for the choice (s) they have made in reality, or simply as for many and myself to wonder: And if I had chosen this girl rather than that one..... And go on. It is said that well-ordered charity begins with oneself. Starting from this principle, we should start by being selfish, and think first of ourselves, to then become altruistic and think of others. After all, can't we make people happy only when we are happy ourselves?
Yes, you're right, ultimately you end up picking for the MC the girl you would pick because you're projecting yourself somewhat into the MC for purposes of the story. This is in large part why it confuses me so much. I guess we're all products of our history and preferences. It's fun to look at the different paths and see what would happen, but if it was you who would you choose for yourself?

I would not pick Cece if it was me because I simply wouldn't want to be looking over my shoulder my whole life worrying. That is particularly true if we were having a child. I have a young son and would be appalled to have in that kind of situation with someone who wasn't whole and fully comfortable with themself. Likewise Kira and Robin are really all about each other and I know there's paths for each (which I haven't done yet) but they've spent the whole story convincing us that they're for each other pretty much so I rule them out. Steph had her chance but blew it because she didn't trust you and left you hanging out to dry. Lexi is a toss up. She's still kind of a kid in a lot of ways but she'll grow out of that, and if she limited her public exposure and cut down on the touring that might be fine. For me personally I would hate the fame aspect. I like my privacy. That leaves Linda and Holly. So, you can argue either way on Linda. You can say that if anything was going to happen it should have by now, but there are also friendships that do grow into relationships as people realize that they're good for each other and they have good history together. MC liked Holly from the get go, was a great influence for him over the summer and seems stable, smart and great looking. Less history but more immediate chemistry. It seems like MC in a logical world should end up with one of these two (and Chris will take the other) with Lexi perhaps as a dark horse. Of course, emotions are intangible, but since I'm using mine I'm just going to run with that.

Now, to be clear I don't begrudge anyone their choice and preference. Everybody likes something different and variety is the spice of life. I totally understand choosing Cece and can see the attraction even as I see the downsides. What strikes me as odd is the unbalanced reaction of a large group of people leaning towards her. It seems to me that under normal circumstances the distribution should be wider and in my mind I'm trying to understand why that is. Really and truly the only one I would say is a flat no would be Steph, because she screwed MC over already and that colossal a screwup would be irreparable for me.

also sfw version of lof? while game would work as sfw it'd feel dumb since many scenes are sexual related like lexi and holly on yacht etc.
I know a number of people who could benefit from playing LOF but won't due to its "porn content". I know many teens who struggle with thoughts of suicide and also others who's friends have that struggle or have survived an attempt and they don't know how to respond to what their friend did or is going through, but you LEGALLY can't hand a 15 or 16 year old a porn game and say "Here, this might help."
You can make a game rated for teens and still have kissing, making out, sexual tension, and implied sex that isn't shown, and give a very similar feel to the game without the blatant porn parts.
Personally, I think a SFW version of LOF would be amazing.

I have pointed this out before, but although, as you say, most players would probably choose Cece's path as the main one. As far as I know, every other game that has an LOF crossover, uses the Lexi route as canon for their game's reality.

just an interesting observation.

If a game/song/book/movie/show can easily be shrugged off and fails to make you care about something, anything in it to the point were you keep thinking about it after it ends, in my opinion, they have completely failed their purpose. "just a ..." is slang for souless waste of time. //endsermon xD

I know I'm going to sound like an idiot but, may I ask what is "SFW" here?

I mean, if you played the original: Sure, maybe a lot of the scenes that would have to replace the sex scenes would feel unrewarding. But if you never played the "adult" version, and Drifty does a good job in transitioning between scenes without the blatant sex scenes, it could definitely work for new players. I suppose the question then is will Drifty ever have time, or want to, make those necessary replacement transitions. From his post, it sounds like that many not be something he's willing to devote too much time to anyway.

"Safe For Work" (NSFW is "Not Safe For Work" btw ...) Basically a PG-13 (at least) version of the game.

EDIT: (just to clarify, Boobs Lover beat me to the punch ... I'm the one in the meme)

Safe for work - SFW.
No vulgar words.
No nudity and no sex scenes:eek:
Nothing offensive for other people.

This is an interesting question indeed, because I find myself at a crossroads with LoF. Among all the relationships with these girls, I find in each of them something that I have experienced, or that has been a choice option, apart from Cece of course for obvious reasons. Steph could be one of my ex-girlfriends for example. An adventurer involved in the special forces with whom I experienced moments in the field during a conflict when I was a photo reporter. However, although I love to travel, I prefer to do so when the bullets aren't whistling past my ears. Kira and Robin could be two good friends who were looking to complement their relationship. It's very nice for a while, but they didn't want children, so next...

Then, well, there's still Linda, Lexi and Holly, who are all the three a component of the little woman with whom I lives. Linda is like the longtime friend I've always been in love with without realizing it, and who had the same feelings for me since we met. lexi is the girl who lived in the spotlight, who was my first model and I was her first photographer, and Holly who is the girl who lights the fuse as soon as she arrives. Beautiful, intelligent, authentic who revealed her feelings to me one day during a business dinner together, during which I almost died of suffocation on a leg of duck.

But having only one choice available, it's uncompromising Holly. A choice that was unfortunately not present during the selection "who am I going to spend the night with?", but as soon as she appeared, I was like. Me me me I want you! Look at! I do cartwheels

haha. Yes, if I was just picking one for MC then Holly would have easily been my first choice as well

Which other games have the crossover? I have seen her in Artemis but just as a cameo and no relationship references. Is there another one that specifically refers to her as being with MC?

DriftyGames
if you guys are still watching this
i hate and love you for this game
after a year absent i played the full game to the end
and still it hits like a .. what .. train? bus? the moon?
the end was the best i have seen at any vn i played
the whole cece story hit me hard - very hard after loosing my father last year
i am not ashamed to admit i cried like a little boy
i cannot think of how hard it was to loose your girl - i think i just got a glimpse of
hope you got a little bit of peace with making this "story" (points to ingame text)

this game belongs to a hall of fame if you ask me (is there one for vn´s?)
anyways good luck on your future way - and maybe on a new game

thanks from the bottom of my heart for this game

In Artemis the Idea is that the reason it is difficult for Lexi to see the MC and Kink Together is because Lexi is engaged to a guy who looks exactly like the MC of Artemis. this is pointed out during the Lexi route of LOS when Kink kisses Lexi's man and then apologizes because LOF's MC looks just like DJ Kink's man. So, the implication in Artemis is that the crossover is with Lexi's rout in LOF.
Also, in LOF we meet Jaye from Chasing Sunsets on the pier and she takes a selfie with Lexi, this happens in all versions of LOF. But in Casing Sunsets, It is made abundantly clear that the Lexi of the Chasing Sunsets world is with the MC of LOF. One scene shows a newspaper article (like the one in LOF about Jaye that the MC reads at Lexi's house before meeting her on the Pier) and in the article, the caption Reads "Lexi Engaged!!" so that one is also the Lexi route.
